1. What is Worship Assistant?
---------------------------------------------------------------------

worship leader in keeping track of worship songs, planning for worship
services and managing worship teams:

* Maintain information about each worship song, including lyrics and
chords.
* Transpose chords to different keys.

song.

* Maintain information about worship sets, including a list of songs
and worship team members.
* Print a songsheet (lyrics and chords) or a set list for each worship
set.
* Print a CCLI usage report based on worship sets.
* Maintain information about worship team members.
* Print a list of all team members.
* Spell checking on lyrics and notes.

2. Installing Worship Assistant
---------------------------------------------------------------------

To install Worship Assistant from CD-ROM, simply insert the CD-ROM
into the drive. The setup program should begin automatically. If it
doesn't, click the Start button, select Run, and enter "d:\setup.exe"
(where "d" is the drive letter of your CD-ROM).

To install the shareware version of Worship Assistant, simply run
WA210.EXE.

In either case, you will be prompted for the folder in which to
install the program, as well as the name of the shortcut folder under
Start|Programs.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
3. Installing Over Previous Versions
---------------------------------------------------------------------

VERY IMPORTANT: If you are currently running version 2.03 or earlier,
you must first upgrade to version 2.05. Version 2.05 can be safely
installed on top of version 1.23 or later. You must allow that version
of the program to open each dataset you are currently maintaining in
order to update the data files.

Version 2.10 can be installed on top of version 2.04 or later, but we
encourage you to first uninstall your current version in order to
delete from your hard drive a number of files no longer required by
the program.

To uninstall, do the following:

a) Backup all files with a DBF, DBT, or MDX extension in your Worship
Assistant folder. You may also want to backup WA.INI which contains
all the program settings.

b) Open Control Panel and select Add/Remove Programs. Select Worship
Assistant from the list of programs displayed and press the Add/Remove
button.

c) After the uninstallation process has finished, you can proceed with
installing the new version of the software.

d) After installing the new version, copy the files you had previously
backed up into the folder in which you installed Worship Assistant.

4. What's New in This Version
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Version 2.10 (December 27, 1999)
--------------------------------

IMPORTANT: If you are currently using a version PRIOR to v2.04, you
MUST upgrade to version 2.05 before using version 2.10. Run version
2.05 one time to update your data files. If you are maintaining data
files in more than location, you must open each set of data files with
version 2.04 or version 2.05 before attempting to open them with
version 2.10.

The biggest change to this version is that the Borland Database Engine
is no longer required. The benefits to this are a much smaller package
size for those downloading the shareware version for the first time,
and the elimination of installation problems that some were
experiencing.

Other changes:

General
BUG FIX: typing in a year of "00" in a date field (when the Windows
short date style only included two digits for the year) resulted in a
year of "1900". (Dates selected from the calendar were unaffected by
this.)
* There is a new menu item under File called Save Dataset As. This
item simply copies the current dataset to another folder location, and
opens the dataset in that location.
* There is a new menu item under File called Restore. This is a
compliment to Backup. Backup has been changed to always zip the data
files. Restore will then unzip these files.
* There is a new tutorial in the online help as well as on the web
site.

Printing
* Added the ability to use colors, underline and strikeout in fonts
selected for printing.
* Added the ability to print the song sheet and lead sheet in
landscape.

Setup
* Added option to print "licence" instead of "license".
* Added option to not auto-capitalize when entering song titles.
* Added reminder to close and re-open Manager windows when setup
parameters change.
* Increased the width of church name field.
* Added the ability to edit original list of Themes from the Selection
Lists dialog.

Song Manager
* Indentations in lyrics will now print correctly on overheads.

Set Manager
* Changing song key is now done on Song Selection page.
* Improved visual distinction between songs and "free text".
* Added "Copy Set" feature (new button on toolbar), which creates a
new set by making a copy of the current set.

Version 2.05 (November 13, 1999)
--------------------------------
Version 2.05 is a maintenance release. The following changes and/or
bug fixes have been made:

* Set Manager; "All Songs" list now includes Author, Key, Theme and
Last Used date.
* Set Manager: "All Songs" and "Current Songs" lists now increase in
size when the window size is increased.
* BUG FIX: Ctrl-V did not always paste text correctly.
* BUG FIX: Manager window sizes/positions were not always remembered.
* BUG FIX: Unable to select non fixed-width font for Note fields.
* BUG FIX: Selection Lists menu item (added in 2.04) inadvertently
disabled in shareware version.
* BUG FIX: Upper case of titles did not work with all characters.

Version 2.04 (October 9, 1999)
------------------------------
Version 2.04 is a maintenance release. The following changes and/or
bug fixes have been made:

* Added ability to edit selection lists, such as song themes and set
text.
* Removed Effects and Color options from Font selection dialog in Page
Setup.
* BUG FIX: Author on Top and Divider Line options for lead sheets were
not being saved.

Version 2.03 (September 6, 1999)
--------------------------------
Version 2.03 is a maintenance release. The following changes and/or
bug fixes have been made:

* Song Book/Song Sheets - fixed problems caused when a song contained
more lines than what could fit in one column.
* Song Book/Song Sheets - added the ability to specify the number of
columns and the space between columns (registered users only).
* Song Book/Song Sheets - added the option to keep songs together on a
page as well as keep songs together in a column.
* Overheads - added options to left justify the title, and print
divider lines below the title and above the copyright.
* Lead Sheet - added options to print the title in all caps, print the
author on top, and print divider lines below the title and above the
copyright.

Version 2.02 (August 16, 1999)
------------------------------
Version 2.02 is a maintenance release. The following changes and/or
bug fixes have been made:

* CCLI Report - Author now appended to Title, adjusted column widths.
* CCLI Report - BUG FIX: last song was not being printed on the
report.
* Set Manager - BUG FIX: last CCLI usage number entered was not always
saved.
* Set Manager - BUG FIX: attempting to delete a song where no song was
selected resulted in "List Out Of Bounds" message.
* Lead Sheet - BUG FIX: Title not always centered properly.
* BUG FIX: invalid dataset location at program startup resulted in
several identical error messages.

Version 2.01 (June 28, 1999)
----------------------------
Version 2.01 is a maintenance release which fixes several anomalies
found in version 2.00. These include:

* No sort order was applied to songbook (it is now sorted by Title).
* Unable to enter blank song key.
* Unable to see or re-enter registration key after entering
successfully.

On the Worship Team page of the Set Manager, there was some confusion
because the help file mentioned an Add Member button, but there wasn't
any such button. Pressing the down arrow key on the last line created
a new line. Because this wasn't obvious to a number of people, I have
now added the Add Member button.

Please see the What's New topic in the online help for information on
what is new in version 2.0.
