ReelCap Tips
-------------------------------------------------------

When using timers on sessions, remember to turn off all the prompting
options under Settings->Capture Options. The prompting causes the program to
wait for a reply, and if you are not present to enter a reply, then the
session cannot begin automatically when its time comes. Sessions are
executed in order, i.e. Session 1 -> Session 2 -> ... -> Session 10.  If the
timer in Session 5 is set earlier than that of Session 4, Session 5 will not
be executed when its time comes.

If you get annoyed by the delay in opening the Capture Sessions window,
disconnect the driver before opening the window. Then reconnect it after
you close the window.

When capturing long sessions, turn off status window, as its system overhead
may cause your system to lag, and thus throwing audio/video out of sync.

Make sure the drives/path/filenames are valid.

On slow systems or for better performance:

  - Allocate file space before capture
  - Turn off Status window

If you have audio/video sync problem, make sure the audio/video sync box is
checked under Settings->Capture Options. If that doesn't help, then try
adjusting the audio interleave, as follows:

  Audio interleave means how far apart each audio buffer is saved in between
  the video buffers. If you set a low quality audio recording, then
  increase the factor. Decrease it when you record high quality.

  For example, on my RainbowRunner with no name sound card, when recording
  at 29.97FPS:

        audio quality 11.025kHz, 8bits, mono    => interleave 1.5sec
        audio quality 44.100kHz, 16bits, stereo => interleave 0.5sec

  Your capture card may vary, so experiment!

  A smaller interleave value places a higher demand on the system resources.
