What is Sweeper?

Sweeper is of particular use to those using IE5.
Sweeper can be configured to run at logon to clear the
IE5 Cache or Temporary Internet Files Folder it removes
all files and subfolders including the hidden index.dat
file which accumulates visited site information.
Further it can also clear Temp,History, Cookies, Recent
and other Most recent file lists in a similar way. Thus
removing unwanted files and helping to maintain security.
Windows will create a new index.dat and cache as it starts.
The index.dat file will be small and contain no surfing
information until the internet is accessed again.
30 day Shareware and Full versions are available.

If you go through the options to delete the cache,
history and so on from within the IE5 client, then use
Winfile or DOS to delete the remainder there can be a
difference of approaching 10Mb between the two methods.
Some files remain open during a Windows session and
access to delete or move them is denied. Your only
option is to delete from DOS mode if you use Win 9x.
For Windows NT if you use the NTFS this is not an option
and is what prompted me to write this application.

Since this is a tool which will access and modify your
Windows registry, I strongly urge you to back up the
registry before use. I don't anticipate any problems but..
it would be good practice to do so before operating
Sweeper for the first time.
