Quick Editor Version 1.8

Safe Installation
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
None of the programs supplied in this package write to the operating
system or replace any component of the operating system. The only
requirement is that you place them all in the same directory / folder
when you first install it. None of the EXECUTABLE files use or write to
the REGISTRY. Quick Editor uses an INI file in its own directory.
Version 1.8 is technically different from versions earlier than 1.6, it
uses a separate INI file editor and it has been fully recoded to make it
more flexible in the way it can be setup. Please read the QEDITOR.HLP file
to take advantage of the extra capacity.
You will need to set up the icon for Quick Editor from either the menu,
program group or the desktop to use it. The other programs supplied as
accessories are all freestanding executable programs that can be
individually set up if desired.
The files included are,
QEDITOR.EXE    25603 bytes.   The main text editor executable file.
SETINI.EXE     16504 bytes.   The INI editor for QEDITOR.EXE
QEDITOR.INI    VARIES.        The INI file for Quick Editor.
QEDITOR.HLP    62568 bytes.   The help file for Quick Editor.
THEGUN.EXE     12989 bytes.   The Notepad replacement text editor.
QETB.EXE       11193 bytes.   The text file browser.
TMENU.ZIP      11863 bytes.   Zip file with add on tools menu extender.
Each executable file is a true freestanding 32 bit EXE that require NO
RUNTIME DLLs at all. You do not have to download any other files at all to
use these programs.
Rights extended to the user under copyright
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The programs are available to any person, organisation, institution or
otherwise to use as they see fit with no charge whatsoever. There are no
nag screens, time limits or any other form of coercion to gain payment.

This README.TXT file and the QEDITOR.HLP file function as the written
extension of rights to the user from the owner and copyright holder of
the programs.

In any jurisdiction that recognises copyright law, the user has this
written right to have this software installed on their computer to use as
they see fit. No jurisdiction or authority is afforded the right to remove
this software from a user's computer unless the user has authorised them to
do so.

Failure to protect the rights of the user by any jurisdiction or authority
is violation of the rights extended to the user under copyright. No
jurisdiction or authority is granted exemption from the rights extended to
the user under copyright.

Two (2) practical restrictions apply,

1. This software is not for sale and MUST not be sold. It may not be
   included in any commercial software package that is sold. Distribution
   costs are exempt from this restriction, as long as it is understood
   that the software is not for sale.

2. Any person who for any reason, may wish to enter into any form of legal
   action whatsoever, is licenced to delete the software from their computer
   and nothing else. No exemption is granted to the restriction and the
   retention of this software by any person undertaking any form of legal
   action is a violation under copyright law.

If you have any doubt as to the inclusion of any of these programs in non
commercial software packages, email me at the address below. The
restriction is aimed at preventing commercial exploitation by persons who
should write their own software, it is not aimed at users who wish to
package information for the convenience of others.

Please note that all of the programs contained in this package retain the
status of being private property, they are not and will not be placed in
the public domain.
