Thank you for your interest in SabrePoint 2000.

DESCRIPTION
SabrePoint 2000 is a popular Windows Point of Sale program designed especially for small businesses, but customisable for most POS applications. It offers many features found in much more expensive systems such as multi-user, multi-language, EURO-compatibility, barcode writer, touch screen compatibility and much more. SabrePoint 2000 replaces old-fashioned cash registers and provides reports on management, taxation, turnover, tax and so on - essential in today's competitive environment. SabrePoint 2000 requires a standard PC and printer but a variety of peripheral devices may be added. See http://www.sabrepoint.com for full information.

COPYRIGHT INFORMATION
Copyright 1997-2000. Maxim Consultants Ltd, T/A SabrePoint Software. This program in TRIAL form may be freely used, copied and distributed to others. However, the program contents are protected by copyright law and associated international treaties. No attempt shall be made to reverse engineer or decompile the program. This shareware downloaded version may be trialed at no cost for up to 50 starts, following which registration (purchase) is required to continue.

HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS
While SabrePoint 2000 could conceivably run satisfactorily on 486 machines, performance is improved with higher-end systems. This is particularly so if large database files are being handled. For this reason the preferred computer specification is a minimum of Pentium II processor, 64 MB RAM, 30 MB HDD. Monitor resolution 1024x768 or 800x600. Standard peripheral components including Windows A4/Letter printer may be used. Optional components are Roll printer, Touch screen, Networking hardware, Cash drawer, Barcode reader. Refer Help for further information.

SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS
MS Windows 95, 98, 2000 (NT5). Testing using Windows ME is set to commence (Sep 00). Additional software may also be supplied by hardware vendor for proprietary hardware such as cash drawers etc.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Normal Packaging: SabrePoint 2000 is packaged in a single downloadable self-extracting file named sp2000.exe (Note: may be names EasiPOS97.exe on some sites). Download the file to a convenient location (eg: your Desktop) and Run to install SabrePoint 2000 on your computer. The installation process is automated ... simply follow the instructions on screen. SabrePoint 2000 will install to C:\Program Files\SabrePoint as default unless changed by the user during the installation process. Once installed, it is recommended that users back up their copy of sp2000.exe (or EasiPOS97.exe) as SabrePoint Software do not normally ship disks.

Optional Packaging 1: In some cases SabrePoint 2000 is packaged in a zipped file named sp2000.zip. It is recommended that the user opens sp2000.zip using WinZip and follows the simple instructions during the automated opening process. SabrePoint 2000 will install to C:\Program Files\SabrePoint as default unless changed by the user during the installation process. Once installed, it is recommended that users back up their copy of sp2000.zip as SabrePoint Software do not normally ship disks.

Optional Packaging 2: Some download sites (eg: simtel.net) do not allow runtime files to be packaged within the main downloadable file. In these cases, the VB6 Runtime files have been stripped from the downloaded file (now named sp2000-.zip) and must be downloaded and installed separately. So, unless the VB6 runtime files have already been installed on your computer (a number of applications use them so they may already exist), the user should:

(a) download and install the Visual Basic 6 Run Time files from the download site (eg: go to http://www.simtel.net and search for "simvb6-6.zip" then download) or from http://www.sabrepoint.com/downloads.htm, then

(b) download and install sp2000-.zip. Alternatively, visit http://www.sabrepoint.com and download the complete installer and discard the sp2000-.zip download.
