Hi All, I don't know how many others out there were languishing like
me with multiple mailboxes on different hosts (well, only 3), and constantly
having to reconfigure Pegasus or Eudora to check if there was any mail on
them.

Well, I finally got sick of it, so I wrote this little app which takes care
of it for me. I have only spent 1 day on it so far, so it lacks a couple of
features (i.e ability to save settings - but I have to figure out some
encryption for passwords first, and downloading mail - but hey, it's only a
monitor for mail).

I figure anyone with multiple mailboxes can use it to tell them when to check
for mail.

It has a couple of known bugs at this stage:

1.	If you try to edit an entry while that entry is checking for mail it
	crashes - don't do this.

2.	Saving settings not yet implemented

Hmm, haven't found any others yet, but I am sure someone else out there will.

It uses a separate thread for checking for mail, so as not to hang up the
application.

It supports only POP3 hosts
It doesn't do MX resolution yet (that is when your email hostname does not have
a physical address, rather it has a pointer to another host that will accept
the mail).

If anyone out there thinks it is worth spending any more time on this, please
email me at:

or

adrien@iconz.co.nz

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

PS - this is for free at this stage. Anyone distributing it should also
distribute this readme file as well.

Further things I am looking at implementing on it (if I get a decent response) are:
(Comments please)

Support for IMAP, Kerberos POP
Downloading of mail (simple mail client integrated with it)
Transferral of mail from one account to another (in the background).
Hooks into NetDDE for notification to machines not running TCP/IP via WinPOP
etc etc.

anyway, don't want to give it all away just yet do we?

Cheers
