                                ==============

single Internet connection to be used by up to twenty people simultaneously.
Dialup connections are fully supported with features such as:

     * Automatic dialling and connection on demand
     * Detection of unused connections with automatic hangup

Fire Door fully supports all common Internet protocols, including:

     *      World Wide Web

                            2. Installation Procedure
                            =========================

Until we get a proper install program going, you should follow the step outlined
here. At present we are assuming a reasonable knowledge of the Windows/NT
operating system and its concepts and management. If you are a rank beginner
then this is a good time to start learning!

2.1 Prerequisites:
------------------

It is assumed that the following have already been installed:

  . TCP/IP.
  . Remote Access Service.
  . A web browser, e.g. Netscape Navigator.

2.2 Procedure
-------------

  1. If this is the first time you have installed a copy of FireDoor, then
go to step 4. If you have previously installed a version of FireDoor,
        continue on to step 2.

  2. Open a command shell and use the CD command to change to the directory
in which the previous version of FireDoor is installed. Enter the
        following commands:

                            FIREDOOR STOP
                            FIREDOOR REMOVE

  3. You may then delete all of the files in the current directory or copy
them to another directory as a backup. All configuration information
is stored elsewhere, so the new version will automatically use the
        old settings.

  4. Use your favorite UnZIP program to unpack the .ZIP file you have
received. You should do this in the directory in which you want to
install Fire Door. We recommend using the directory:

                        C:\WINAPP32\APPS\FIREDOOR

If you are installing FireDoor into the same directory as a previous
version, make sure you delete all of the old files before continuing.

  5. The directory should contain a file named FIREDOOR.EXE, two .GIF files,
and a set of .HTML files. If you have .HTM files instead of .HTML,
then your UnZIP programs doesn't understand long filenames. To rename
these files to the correct extension, enter the following command from
        an command shell:

                              REN *.HTM *.HTML

  6. From a command shell, execute the command:

                              FIREDOOR INSTALL

This will install the FireDoor service into the system registry.

  7. From a command shell, execute the command:

                               FIREDOOR START

This will start the FireDoor service automatically. Alternatively, you
may use the Services applet in the Control Panel to start the FireDoor
service manually. This applet can also be used to make FireDoor
        autmatically start on reboot.

  8. Start your Web browser and enter the URL:

                              http://localhost:2080

This should bring up the FireDoor Home Page with the logo and
hyperlinks to online help and configuration pages.

  9. The first time you attempt to access any FireDoor configuration page,
you will be asked for a username and password to authorise access.
FireDoor is delivered with the default username "admin" and password
"secret". We recommend you change these settings to other values to
preserve the security of your system. This can be done from the Global
        Parameters configuration page.

  10. Follow the steps in the "Getting Started" section of the online help.
This section is also available from a hyperlink on the FireDoor Home
        page.

  11. Once you are connected to the 'Web, be sure to check out the release
notes for late breaking information on your version of FireDoor. There
is a hyperlink to this document near the bottom of the FireDoor Home
        Page.

  12. Most importantly - PLEASE REGISTER YOUR COPY OF FIREDOOR! Not only will
it allow you to use FireDoor with more than user, but the money will
help us improve the product even further. We will keep you informed
of new versions of FireDoor via email, and please check our 'Web
Home Page at "http://www.ozemail.com.au/~equiv" for information on
        other Equivalence products.
