Description
-----------

iView uses the World Wide Web access statistics generated by
the Internet Audit Bureau to generate charts and graphs
for easy interpretations of these statistics.

iView can produce charts of all the statistics provided
in your (or someone else's) account statistics iAudit page.

- Daily
- Hourly
- Browser type

The Daily chart identifies each day by different colors
and draws a Trend Line taking all readings (except the first
and the last one) into account. A measure of fitness
(Coefficient of Determination [0% =>R=>100%]) is provided,
together with the arithmetic mean (average) of daily requests
for this period. (Note the first and last day are omitted
because they both are usually incomplete: the first day
is usually the day the account was set up - not necessarily
at 0:00 Pacific Time, and the last day is the day of the
collection of the stats (same reasoning).

The Hourly chart converts the Pacific Time indications to
your local time.

When a chart is displayed, you may simply navigate the mouse
pointer on any data line and it will be automatically
identified on the display.

All charts can be "filtered" by a high filter or low filter
or both. (This is useful when data density is large - or
when you want to isolate certain ranges for viewing.

All charts can be saved to:
- a graphics file (BMP)
- a text file
- hard copy (printer)
- a buffer in memory for comparison to another chart.

The buffer is quite handy as it allows you to quickly
toggle between two charts to compare them.

-------------------------------------------------------------

iView can be started in two ways:

1) Automatically
2) Manually

In order to start iView automatically, you must set up
your WWW browser so that it recognizes files of mime-type
text/iaudit and knows that it should automatically
"spawn" (invoke) iView.exe when it receives statistics
from the Internet Audit Bureau with mime-type "text/iaudit".

The process is quite simple. (I'll use Netscape's Navigator in
this example as it is - by FAR - the most popular browser
out there.)

a) Run the iView setup and select a directory for it
   (I suggest: \netscape\iaudit)
a) Start Netscape's Navigator.
b) Select the Options menu
c) Select the Helper Applications submenu
d) Create a new mime-type with:
   Mime-Type: text
   SubType: iaudit
   Extension: cmd
Select "Browse" and point to \netscape\iaudit\iview.exe
e) Hit "OK"

Once this is done, whenever Netscape receives a stats file
from iAudit with mime-type "text/iaudit", it will place
the data in the temp directory and invoke iView.exe.
All you need to do then is to click the "CHART" key to
view the data in graphics form.
You can then select any one of the other stats and chart them.

If you wish to save the data for later retrieval, you
can use the "Save As..." function in the File menu.
This function will propose to name the file by the current
date (yymmdd.txt) - you can amend that as you wish.
If you have several iAudit accounts, simply insert one
unique identifying letter in front of the proposed filename.
I suggest you save all such data in the \netscape\iAudit dir.

You can, of course, also start iView manually. It will
then bring you back to the last dir you used during the
last session and point to the last file viewed.
Select the file you wish to see and click "CHART".
That's about it.

Final point, you must register this software with PRS Corp.
to use all of the charting functions. You may do this with
the registration forms available under the Help menu.
