REAME.TXT

This is the source disk for the Signature Program. This
program allows you to embed signatures into documents, and
allows other people to verify that it was you, and only
you, that signed the document.

Run the SIGNSET.EXE program from within Windows to install
the program. Installation is normally done with the local
LAN administrator (if you have a LAN), because the system
administrator is responsible for maintaining the system
password used by each copy Signature program on the network.

Installation also copies the help file SIGNSET.HLP to your
hard disk, and places icons for SIGNSET.EXE and SIGNSET.HLP
in a new Program Manager group. Run the help file to get
additional information about the Signature Program.

The Signature Program can not be run by itself. Once
installed, the Signature Program is activiated by selecting
the "Insert Object" menu item from within another application,
and selecting the object type "Sign Document." This is
explained in more detail in the help file, SIGNSET.HLP.

The Signature Program runs under Microsoft Windows and Windows
NT. Applications must support OLE (Object Linking and
Embedding) to use signatures. Almost all major applications,
such as Word and Excel, support OLE.

Windows 3.1 users who have not installed recent Microsoft
applications such as Word or Excel may also need to upgrade
their installation to add OLE 2.0 features. If the file
OLE2.DLL is present in your WINDOWS/SYSTEM directory, you
already have OLE 2.0 installed. If not, you will need to
also obtain the OLE2UPGD.ZIP file to upgrade your installation.
OLE2UPGD.ZIP is available on the CompuServe WINSHARE forum
and in many other locations and BBS sites.
