      Title: Apple Fritters (Ob'l Puffers)
 Categories: Penndutch, Brunch
   Servings:  1

      1 c  Flour
      3 tb Powdered sugar
    1/3 c  Milk
      2 ea Med Apple, sour, thinly slic
  1 1/2 ts Baking powder
    1/4 ts Salt
      1 ea Egg, well beaten

  Sift the dry ingredients into a bowl. Beat the egg and add the milk and
  stir into the dry ingredients. Mix well. Add the sliced apples. Drop batter
  by spoonfuls into hot fat and fry. Source: Pennsylvania Dutch Cook Book -
  Fine Old Recipes, Culinary Arts Press, 1936.

      Title: Apple Fritters
 Categories: Desserts
   Servings: 12

      1 c  Flour
    1/4 ts Cinnamon
    1/2 c  Milk
      1 ts Baking Powder
      2 x  Eggs
      2 x  Apples, chopped

  Mix dry ingredients. In separate bowl, beat eggs, stir in milk and apples.
  Combine with dry ingredients. Drop 1 Tablespoon at a time into hot 375 deg
  F. fat. Fry until golden brown.

  Drain and serve sprinkled with confectioners' sugar, and/or maple syrup.
  Makes 12-15.
