This sounds really good, thanx. Do you happen to have any chutney recipes
  which can be canned?

Mountain Mama, I found this one for you in my old Ball canning book. Hope this
is what you wanted. I know you will let me know if it's not.

---------- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v7.07

      Title: Peach or Pear Chutney
 Categories: Fruits, Relishes
   Servings: 7

4 qt Peaches or pears, peeled &
           Finely chopped
      1 c Raisins
      1 c Onions, chopped
      1 Clove garlic, minced (opt)
  2 1/2 c Brown sugar, packed
      5 c Vinegar
    1/4 c Mustard seed
      2 tb Ground ginger
      2 ts Salt
      1 Hot red pepper

Combine all ingredients and cook slowly until thick, about 40 minutes.
Stir frequently to prevent sticking. Pour, boiling hot, into sterilized
jars, leaving 1/8" head space. Adjust caps. Yield: about 7 pints.

NOTE: For a milder chutney, remove seeds from hot pepper.
