The cream cheese really makes this dish!

Broccoli-Onion Casserole

10 oz. pkg. frozen, cut broccoli
1 cup frozen whole onion or 1 medium onion, cut into thin wedges
  (I ususally chop this)
1 Tbsp. margarine/butter
1 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. dried basil
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
2/3 cup milk
8 oz. pkg. cream cheese, cut up into small squares
3/4 cup soft bread crumbs
1 Tbsp. margarine or butter, melted

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.  In a medium saucepan, cook broccoli and onions
for 4 minutes.  Drain well, removing vegetables from saucepan.

In same saucepan, melt 1 Tbsp. margarine or butter. Stir in flour, basil,
salt and pepper.  Add milk, all at once.  Cook and stir until thickened and
bubbly.  Add cream cheese, stir until melted.  Stir in broccoli and onions.

Transfer to a 1 quart casserole.  Combine the bread crumbs and melted
margarine or butter.  Sprinkle over broccoli mixture.  Bake at 350 degrees
for 15 to 20 minutes.  Serves 4.
