Caramel Candy Bars
1 pkg. (14oz) caramel candies
1/3 C milk
2 C flour
1  1/2 C packed brown sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 C oats
1 egg
1 C margarine
1 pkg. (6oz) chocolate chips

Heat oven to 350 degrees.  Heat candies and milk in 2 quart saucepan over low
heat, stirring frequently, until smooth.

Mix flour, oats, brown sugar, baking soda, salt and egg.  Stir in margarine
with fork until mixture is crumbly.  Press 1/2 of the crumbly mixture in
greased rectangular (9 x 13") pan.  Bake for 10 minutes.  Sprinkle with
chocolate chips and drizzle with caramel.  Sprinkle remaining crumbly mixture
over top.  Bake until golden brown for 20-25 minutes.  Cool for 30 minutes.
Loosen edges from sides of pan.  Cut into bars.

Makes 54 bars.
