          FRENCH FRY PIE

          9 inch deep dish pie shell
          1 c. thin sliced white onions
          3 T. butter
          4 c. frozen french fried potatoes
          2 eggs
          1 T. all purpose flour
          1 t. salt
          1/2 t. seasoned pepper
          1 c. Half-and-half
          1/2 c. grated Cheddar cheese
          8 slices bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled
          1 c. sour cream
          3 T. chopped chives

          Saute' onions in butter, allow to cool.  Beat eggs, add
          salt, pepper and flour and mix well.  Add half and half,
          mix well.  Place sauteed onions in bottom of pie crust,
          sprinkle 1/2 cup of the cheese on top of onions.  break
          frozen potatoes in half.  Put potatoes on top of onions
          and cheese.  Pour egg mixture over potatoes, sprinkle top
          of pie with another 1/2 cup of the cheese.  Bake at 350
          degrees for 45 minutes or until a knife inserted in the
          middle of the pie comes out clean.  Remove from oven.
          Mix crumbled bacon and remaining 1/2 cup cheese and
          sprinkle on top of the pie.  Place in a 400 degree oven
          for 2 minutes or until the cheese starts to melt.  Remove
          from oven and serve with sour cream and chives.
