     The complete reference on radio electronics.  Full of projects and
     applications.  Fascinating reading.  Older editions can be picked up for
     a couple of bucks at ham shows.

Berlin, Howard: THE 555 TIMER APPLICATIONS SOURCEBOOK WITH EXPERIMENTS,

     The definitive reference to the 555.

Darr, Jack and Delton Horn: HOW TO TEST ALMOST EVERYTHING ELECTRONIC, Tab

     A tutorial on using test instruments and common sense to fix electronic
     devices of all kinds.

DeMaw, Doug: W1FB's QRP NOTEBOOK, Amateur Radio Relay League, 1991,

     Complete manual for building low power (QRP) ham radio receivers and
     transmitters.  Full of info for those interested in amateur radio.

Hargrave, Bonnie J. and Ted Dunning: BUILD YOUR OWN COMPUTER ACCESSORIES AND

     Excellent How-2 book on building cables, adaptors, test instruments, 
     switch boxes, gender changers, etc.  With C source for software testing
     of cables and ports.

Horn, Delton T.: OSCILLATORS SIMPLIFIED, WITH 61 PROJECTS, Tab Books,

     A simplified tutorial and reference on oscillators.

Horowitz and Hill: THE ART OF ELECTRONICS, 1980, Cambridge University Press,
ISBN 0-521-29837-7.
     The bible for electronics hobbyists, hackers, and engineers.  Useful 
     both as a primer and a reference.  One of the best books of its kind.

Lancaster, Don: CMOS COOKBOOK, Howard W. Sams & Co., 1977,

     The standard reference guide to CMOS.  Clear explanations and many 
     applications.

Lancaster, Don: TTL COOKBOOK, Howard W. Sams & Co., 1974, ISBN 0-672-21035-5,
$9.50.
     A classic.  The "guru" explains TTL logic devices and how to use same.

Larson and Rony: LOGIC AND MEMORY EXPERIMENTS WITH TTL IC'S [Books 1 & 2],

     A complete self-teaching course in digital electronics, complete with
     lab experiments.  A fun and painless intro to the field.  Recommended.

Mims, Forest M.: ENGINEER'S NOTEBOOK II, Radio Shack, 1982, 
cat. no. 276-5002, approx $5 [out of print].
     Hundreds of applications circuits using TTL, CMOS, and linear IC's.
     Very useful reference.

Pasahow, Edward: ELECTRONICS READY REFERENCE MANUAL, McGraw Hill Inc., 1985,

     A fairly complete pocket-sized reference for the electronics engineer 
     and technician.  Loaded with useful info about electronics, computers,
     math, etc.

Schetgen, Bob, ed.: QRP CLASSICS, ARRL, 1990, ISBN 0-87259-316-9, $12.00.
     A collection of articles from QST Magazine on construction of low-power 
     amateur receivers and transmitters.  Even better than DeMaw's book.
