I.  INSTALLATION
----------------
If you have an installation diskette, place it in your a: drive and run 
A:\SETUP.EXE.  The installation program will guide you through the 
installation process.

If you have a zipped version of the program (e.g. WWIPERS.ZIP) then copying
this .ZIP file to a subdirectory (e.g. C:\WWIPERS) and using PKUNZIP to
decompress the files will give you a working version of Window Wipers.
Note: You will need PKZIP 2.04g or higher.


II. INSTALLING TO A NETWORK
---------------------------
If you are installing from an installation disk in a networked environment
and the above procedure does not work, then perform the following steps:
1. Copy A:\SETUPKIT.DLL to your Windows directory using File Manager.
2. Copy A:\VBRUN300.DLL to your Windows directory using File Manager.
3. Copy A:\VER.DL_ to your Windows directory, and rename it VER.DLL.
4. Run A:\SETUP1.EXE from Program Manager.
Note: You must have a site license if multiple users run this program
from the network.


III. TROUBLESHOOTING
--------------------
1. Problem   : The install program fails trying to install the SETUPKIT.DL_
	       file.
   Resolution: Follow the instructions for INSTALLING TO A NETWORK above.

2. Problem   : The install program fails with the error "One or more Visual
	       Basic applications are running."
   Resolution: Close the offending application. It may be necessary to
	       press Ctrl-Esc to bring up the task list and click on
	       "End Task" to close the offending application. If you are
	       not sure which applications are Visual Basic applications,
	       then close all programs except for Program Manager.

3. Problem   : The install program fails with the error that the THREED.VBX
	       file could not be installed.
   Resolution: Check to see if an older version of THREED.VBX exists in your
	       Windows or System directory (e.g. C:\WINDOWS\THREED.VBX or
	       C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\THREED.VBX). If so, RENAME this file to
	       THREED.OLD (for backup purposes), reboot your system, and try
	       the installation procedure again.

4. Problem   : Forgot password.
   Resolution: If you forget your password you will need to edit 
	       the file WINWIPE.INI in your windows directory
	       (e.g. C:\WINDOWS\WINWIPE.INI). Open this file up in NotePad
	       and look for the line that starts with "Password=" (it will
	       be in the section labeled "[MASTER]"). Carefully delete this
	       line and save the file. This will disable the Window Wipers
	       password and you will have to go back to the password dialog
	       to establish a new one.

5. Problem   : Window Wipers does not start working when started in 
	       minimized state.
   Resolution: The shareware version requires you to click "OK" on the
	       introduction screen before screen saving will begin.

6. Problem   : Some configuration settings cause screen savers to run slow.
   Resolution: Since PC's vary in speed, monitor resolutions, etc., all
	       configuration combinations for a particular screen saver
	       may not work well on your system. Experiment to find those 
	       that do.
	       
7. Problem   : Constant disk activity on the "Puzzle" screen saver.
   Resolution: Change screen resolutions. Due to this screen saver's high
	       graphical content it does not work well with some screen
	       resolutions, particularly if video ram is low. 

8. Problem   : Some screen savers (e.g. "Mirrors" and "InkSpill") do not
	       work well with some bitmap wallpapers.
   Resolution: Due to the technique used in these screen savers and the
	       resulting random nature, some wallpapers will have less
	       appealing results than others. In particular, some 256 color
	       (and higher) bitmaps do not work well.

VISUAL ADVANTAGE, INC. DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES RELATING TO THIS SOFTWARE, 
WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY IMPLIED 
WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, 
AND ALL SUCH WARRANTIES ARE EXPRESSLY AND SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMED. 
NEITHER VISUAL ADVANTAGE, INC. NOR ANYONE ELSE WHO HAS BEEN INVOLVED 
IN THE CREATION, PRODUCTION, OR DELIVERY OF THIS SOFTWARE SHALL BE LIABLE 
FOR ANY INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE 
USE OR INABILITY TO USE SUCH SOFTWARE EVEN IF VISUAL ADVANTAGE, INC. HAS 
BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES OR CLAIMS. IN NO EVENT SHALL 
VISUAL ADVANTAGE, INC.'S LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGES EVER EXCEED THE PRICE 
PAID FOR THE LICENSE TO USE THE SOFTWARE, REGARDLESS OF THE FORM OF CLAIM. 
THE PERSON USING THE SOFTWARE BEARS ALL RISK AS TO THE QUALITY AND 
PERFORMANCE OF THE SOFTWARE.

Some states do not allow the exclusion of the limit of liability for 
consequential or incidental damages, so the above limitation may not 
apply to you.

This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Kentucky 
and shall inure to the benefit of Visual Advantage, Inc. and any 
successors, administrators, heirs and assigns. Any action or proceeding 
brought by either party against the other arising out of or related to 
this agreement shall be brought only in a STATE or FEDERAL COURT of 
competent jurisdiction located in Jefferson County, Kentucky. The parties 
hereby consent to in personam jurisdiction of said courts.
