Hawk walked to the bar..... Hydrite blood, from one of the last
Hydrites he killed, found its way into his mouth and he desperately
wanted a drink to get rid of the taste.

Hawk looked around the bar for Barl, but he was no where in sight.
So instead of waiting for Barl to return, Hawk reached behind the
bar and grabbed the closest bottle. While he was pooring himself a
drink, Hawk turned his thoughts to his present problem. A few days
back he was lying close to death. He was posioned by a Hydrite,
during a brief battle. He had killed the Hydrite, but the Hydrite
still managed to get a quick blow in before it died. Only one
blow, but it was still enough to poison him. His med kit had only
4 applications left, when the battle first began and he used them
to take care of the posioned wound. But the med kit didn't cure
the posion that was still streaking through his veins.

On his way back to his base to get a vac pack to cure the poison,
he ecountered several monsters. Most of them had high radiation,
so even if he killed them, the equipment they had would have turn
to dust after he killed them. Only one of the monsters had a med
kit on him, and under different circumstances, Hawk would have
killed it easily, but by that time, Hawk's hit points were running
low and he knew better than to tangle with it, so he ran. This was
when he made a crucial mistake. Frustrated by the wild frenzy of
attacking monsters, he momentarily became disoriented and ran in
the wrong direction, the monster's zzet creased his scalp and he
fell through a pit to the next level. Cussing himself for his
stupidy, Hawk checked his current situtation. His Xendrix,
Herculean, and Reflecto had enough rounds to kill an army, but he
had no vac pack, no med kits, one ration, his rads where a tad
high (but weren't life threating), but his hit points were
critically low. There was no way that he would be able to survive
the rough trek back to his base with the posion streaking through
his veins. He doubted if he could take more than a couple of
steps. Doing the smartest thing, he made camp and hoped that
somebody would find him and help.

During the middle of the night a young woman appeared. She gave
him a vac pack to cure his posion and 2 med kits so he could make
it back to his base. She said, that she was going to leave him but
that she would return to make sure he was alright. He had waited
all that day and the next for her return but she never did. Hawk
was worried that something might have happened to her after she
left and might be in the same fix he was in when she found him.

This was the reason he had returned to the Complex. He had hoped
to find her here. The Frontier Log had no record of her activity
for the past day. Her name was not on the Morgue list and the
Recruit Roster showed that she was still in the wastelands. The
name by which she was known, was the "Female Assassin."

The Saga continues....
