                RETRIBUTION

PART 6 BY THE CHOIR BOYZ TEAM.............................

Arctic Fox badgered the Hydrite stationed outside his cell
door. Arctic Fox was relentless in insulting the guards as
they passed by, and threatened to destroy all of them the very
moment he got out. The Hydrites usually rotated the guards
every four hours or so. But even the Hydrites could not take
the constant cackling from CELL A. A new guard was stationed
at CELL A on the hour, replacing a frustrated and weary guard.
Arctic Fox fancied himself as a mercenary. For the right
price, he would run supplies to the recruits in the
Wastelands, plant thumpers on unsuspecting campers, sabotage
and destroy bases. And for the right price, Arctic Fox would
commit murder. There were water crystals out there to be
made, and Arctic Fox was eager to make his mark. He wanted
out. He wanted out now.

Scarecrow rubbed his brow and his temples. The commotion from
CELL A was giving him the mother of all headaches. He tried
to envision what Arctic Fox looked like, and wished the Black
Plague on him. He did not think he was very old, but was
amazed at the language that flowed from the lips of this young
fellow. His head continued to pound and his shoulders ached.
He concluded that a moments peace was not to be. He was
leaving.

Just as he was about to activate the telegrasp he had so
cleverly concealed from the Hydrites, Scarecrow was startled
by sudden blood curdling screams and the distinct sound of a
Xendrix making its mark. There was no other sound like it,
and Scarecrow knew that the prison guards were not so well
equipped. The prison was under attack. He heard a barrage of
fire, metal colliding with metal, and more screams. Alarms
were sounded and he could hear the doorways in the halls being
slammed shut. Hydrites were scurrying to all of the cells and
Scarecrow could here orders echoing in the hallways. There
was a momentary lull, perhaps thirty seconds or so, but the
battle resumed with more intensity, then total silence. The
next sound Scarecrow heard was the door to CELL A being
opened. Someone had freed Arctic Fox. Several more Hydrites
rushed past Scarecrow's cell door, and again he heard the
sounds of battle. But this time, he could smell the death.
