                RETRIBUTION

PART 9 BY THE CHOIR BOYZ TEAM...........................

Dire-Wolf was a fearless warrior. Some said that it would do
him well to turn tail and run "every once in a while". But
that was not his style. He would take on an Alien Hunter with
a steel chain and an empty Trialism and fight to the death...
and lose. But given a second chance, he would track down the
Alien Hunter and attack again with the same array of weapons
...and lose, again. He would never give up. Dire-Wolf had
been resurrected so many times that he was on a first name
basis with all the technicians and staff in the Medical
Center, and very familiar with the maze of hallways,
examination rooms, decontamination chambers, as well as the
other facets of the busiest entity of the Complex. But even
Dire-Wolf with all the acquaintances he had made in this place
was forbidden to enter the highly restricted, well guarded
area called "Records". Only top security personnel could get
past the heavily armed guards and the retina scan to access
"Records". Dire-Wolf offered Athena a small portion of his
rations, but Athena declined. He reminded her of her most
recent close call due to lack of nourishment. A little
embarrassed, Athena ingested the disgusting liquid. "And
Hawk's medical records...any ideas?." she asked Dire-Wolf.
Dire-Wolf then sported a huge grin. "You really should hurry
to your base now............, You just swallowed them."

Smith&Jones happily sipped the fifth drink that Scarecrow was
generously paying for. His mind was dull from the alcohol,
and he tried to recall the last time he had been so relaxed.
He was a little taken by Scarecrow's kindness and generosity,
but dismissed any idea that something underhanded was going
on. Scarecrow had always been hard on Smith&Jones and accused
him of being lazy and undependable. But not tonight. He was
paying for the green, awful, slimy spirits that Barl served up
in fire retardate drinking vessels. And Smith&Jones was
taking advantage of his good fortune. His head started
swimming. He talked about Overkill and how he relished the
day that he would encounter the Beast and end the treachery on
Earth. Scarecrow politely nodded but momentarily seemed
agitated. Scarecrow wanted to change the subject. "Barl",
said Scarecrow, "Another one for my friend."

Scarecrow had his suspicions about what set Hawk into motion.
Athena had successfully made the trek back to the Crow's Nest
relatively unscathed, but her stomach was giving her fits
knowing that she had ingested Hawk's medical records. She
complained to Black Widow about her nausea, but Black Widow
was consumed with repairing the base telepod. Black Widow
finally completed the assignment, and devoted her attention
to Athena who had been babbling about Dire-Wolf and his
tactics and her stomach and the Frontier Log and...........
