                RETRIBUTION

PART 21 BY THE CHOIR BOYZ TEAM...........................

Hawk screamed as he was awakened by the Tevix-Bahn cutting
into his ribs. He rolled to his left side and once again
Athena hit her mark. He reached for his Xendrix and flailed
in the direction of his attacker. He struck air, and heard
the sound of a small and young recruit running towards the
east. It was futile to attempt to track the fleeing Athena.
His wounds were bad and the blood flowed from his sides. He
reached towards his back pack and suddenly remembered he was
out of medpacks. Hawk took a burning limb from the nearby
camp fire and pressed it against his ribs. The wounds seared
closed and the bleeding stopped. Hawk passed out from the
pain.

Black Widow methodically itemized the contents of her back
pack. Her Xendrix and Herculean were polished to a blinding
brightness, as well as hew newly acquired Reflecto armor.
Athena could not stand still as the energy that flowed through
her could have powered the entire complex for a week. But
Black Widow did not hear Athena. Black Widow's mind was
somewhere in the western end of level 2. Black Widow was one
of the deadliest warriors in the Wastelands. She rarely made
a move that was not planned, and could strike quickly and
silently. Many believed that she was the chosen one that
would destroy Overkill, and end the madness in the world.

Eliminator, donned in numerous bandages, greeted Black Widow
at the main entrance to the Complex. He was healing quickly,
but against doctors orders, and Cheetah's, he left the Medical
Center to bid Black Widow farewell. Hand in hand, Lynx and
Osprey wished her good luck. Lynx handed a fresh medpack to
Black Widow. There was an inscription on the medpack which
read "Compliments of Hawk". Black Widow's eyes met
Scarecrow's, but he said nothing. She knew what he was
thinking and what was in his heart. Scarecrow walked away.
Black Widow entered the Wastelands.

He was a blood stained pulp. His wounds had not healed and
the pain was immense. Hawk had no medical provisions and his
ammunition was low. His energy was taxed, and it was growing
more difficult to breathe as his ribs rubbed against his
lungs. He had been exposed to the radiation for a long time,
now, and his skin began to discolor. He looked over his maps
and plotted the safest and shortest route to his base on level
4. He promised himself that if he survived the journey, the
world would suffer another holocaust.
