OCBL: Orlando Compleat BBS List Policy by Matt Drury
(7-13-1983, revised 7-23-1993, 21-21-1994)

Welcome to my BBS List! For over the past decade, I've tried to make
it the most comprehensive and detailed reference to central Florida
bulletin board services, and seemed to have succeeded. From local
magazines and talk radio shows to national publications, OCBL is
considered to have one of the best compilation styles and procedures
in place.

As I receive information, I will place it 'on hold' until I can confirm
that a carrier is present at the stated number. If I can't connect in a
week or so, I will discard the information as invalid. Note that due to
the popularity of some systems not on my List, this may cause problems
with initially getting on it. My advice would be for new sysops to be
patient.

I cannot list systems that are fundamentally pay services, such as GEnie,
Prodigy, or even "BBSes" that charge for the significant portion of their
access. It's up to their advertising agencies to make themselves
known. Nor can I list boards in town which are closed to new users, or
require a password before login can occur. These systems are considered
private and as such are not of use to the majority of callers.

I can no longer check the List weekly for carrier. It is the specific
responsibility of the sysop of a given system to keep me posted with
updates, preferably sent directly via London or a participating ListMonger
system. Information given to me will stay in the List for three months -
giving the phone company plenty of lead time to reissue a dead number, for
example.

I strongly urge that no copy of the Listing over a month old be allowed
to stay online. Systems go up and down so fast that a copy a few weeks
old is starting to show holes. It is always available from my BBS, 24
hours a day. If an old Listing is found somewhere, please remove it or
ask that it be removed -- and pick up a new copy from my system.

I ask that those who do reproduce my Listing do so without changing or
rearranging the information therein. The accuracy of the Listing's
contents is relatively sure from my BBS and those who get it directly
from me; beware of third- or fourth-generation copies, however...

And finally, donations and fan mail are always welcomed and cherished.
If you appreciate the work I've put into this Listing, please feel free
to send a donation to Matt Drury, Box 536032, Orlando FL 32853. Your
donation will go towards keeping London's hardware and software running
and updated, and will seriously help its continuing operation.
