README.TXT for WIPaf V0.9 (beta).

WIPaf Version 0.9 (beta) - "Windows Into PAF", a Windows interface into the
genealogy program "Personal Ancestral File". This is the second beta version
(V0.8 being the first).

This is an update and requires you to have previously retrieved and installed
V0.8. In the WIPAF090.ZIP file there are new, replacement WIPAF.EXE and
WIPAF.HLP files, along with documents about WIPaf and the updates in V0.9.

INSTALLATION:

1) Download the file WIPAF090.ZIP from CompuServe, other online service,
   or genealogical BBS.
2) UNZIP it into a temporary directory; there are five files including this
   README.TXT.
3) If you'd like to keep your old program and help files, rename them to
   WIPAF080.EXE and WIPAF080.HLP.
3) Move the WIPAF.EXE and WIPAF.HLP files from the temporary directory into
your WIPAF directory (overwriting the old program and help files if you
   didn't want to save them).

You should be able to use WIPaf right away. You don't have to restart
Windows. Some people had a problem here with their first-time use of
Version 0.8 that should be resolved for new users of Version 0.9.

You do not need to run PAF in a DOS window, and as a matter of fact, should
not - DOS PAF never intended on concurrently sharing its files with another
program. You will not cause any problems if you try to, it's just that one
or the other may not work because the files are locked by the first to run.

It's not necessary that WIPaf reside in the same directory as PAF - I
recommend that WIPaf files be placed in their own directory, and have
configured SETUP to do so by default.
