SUDSW is officially distributed and supported from the following
  sources:
o Compuserve Wine/Beer forum (GO WINE) in library 14 - General
       Homebrewing.
o The Power BBS in Distribution Headquarters library section
       (610)740-9196
o Internet via ftp from sierra.stanford.edu,
                             directory /pub/homebrew/programs/SUDSW

NOTE - For IBU calculations, SUDSW now defaults to using the Jackie
Rager figures from Zymurgy 1990 which are also similar to the
Papazian figures. Provided with the release are several batch files
to install different methods of IBU calculation. Running any of these
from the DOS prompt in your SUDS directory will install the
corresponding method of IBU calculation. They are:

RAGER.BAT - Install Jackie Rager figures (similar to Papazian)
GARETZ.BAT - Install figures used by Mark Garetz in Using Hops book.
TINSETH.BAT - Use figures published recently by Glenn Tinseth.

You can also edit the hop utilization tables yourself (see online help
  for details).

To get started, make sure that you have the following files from
your distribution disk (Please note, the SUDSW.WRI file is formatted
to be viewable with Windows Write - in the Accessories folder within
  program manager!).

        SUDSW.EXE - SUDSW program file
BWCC.DLL - Needed to run SUDSW
MUSCROLL.DLL - Needed to run SUDSW
SUDSAHA.SDF - Import file for AHA style guidelines
        SUDSMALT.SDF - Import file for malt/sugar data
        SUDSW.HLP - On-line Help file for SUDSW
SUDSHST.DAT - SUDS Configuration data file
SUDSW.WRI - Documentation file for SUDSW
README.TXT - Short introduction to SUDSW release
        REGISTER.TXT - SUDSW registration form
RECIPES.SXF - "Starter" set of recipes to import into
                         SUDSW.
AVGYEAST.IBU - Hop utilization table for avg flocculating yeast
LOYEAST.IBU - Hop utilization table for lo flocculating yeast
HIYEAST.IBU - Hop utilization table for hi flocculating yeast.

If you are upgrading from SUDSW 2.2 or earlier, the first time you
run SUDSW 4.0, it will convert your old recipe files into its new
file structure. This can take several minutes!
The files SUDSRCP.DBF, SUDSRCP.DBT and SUDSHOP.DBF will be renamed
to SUDORCP.DBF, SUDORCP.DBT and SUDOHOP.DBF respectively prior to
the conversion. If for some reason, you wish to go back to an
earlier release of SUDSW, you will need to rename them back to their
original files, then delete all indexes (DEL *.IND). You can then
reinstall the older versions. Once SUDSW has converted the
files and you are comfortable that all is working properly, you can
  delete the renamed files.

SUDSW is distributed under the shareware concept which allows you
to sample SUDSW for a 30 day period after which the registration
  fee must be paid.

Currently registered users of SUDSW (meaning you've paid the
registration fee), may use the upgrade FREE of charge. No
upgrade fee is required. Drop me a note if you can so I can
update my user list to reflect the version you are using!

The current registration fee for SUDSW 4.0 is $20.

As a bonus for registering, I will send you free of charge the
  following utilities:

o SUDSCM - Add the ENTIRE Cat's Meow II file to your SUDS database
This will add 415 recipes of all styles!
o IBUCALC - Command line hop IBU calculator. Great for determining
              desired hopping!
o CATMEO2 - The Internet Cat's Meow II file for use with SUDSCM

Please read at least the Introduction and Installation portions
  of the documentation (SUDSW.WRI).

This package is not crippled or disabled in any way. As long as
honesty prevails, these measures will not be necessary. All I ask
is that you register the program if you continue to use it beyond
  the 30 day trial period.

You are free to share copies of the complete SUDSW package with
anyone you choose. That's how shareware works! They, of course,
must also abide by the terms above.

Feel free to drop me any comments or suggestions on the program
via Compu-Serve, or by mail. I also frequent the WINE/BEER forum
on Compu-Serve and you may leave messages there as well.

  Happy Brewing!
