Hello my dear brothers and sisters in Christ!

The following text file will hopefully assist you in gathering
information regarding starting up a Calvary Chapel Computer
Ministry Bulletin Board System for yourself or your church.

Although CalvaryNet is open to all for fellowship "In the Love
of Christ", currently... only Calvary Chapel and Affiliate brethren
  are permitted to relay CalvaryNet.

In addition to the information that is presented in this text file,
I have the following files available on The Shepherd's Flock Family

Here is some additional information regarding connecting to CalvaryNet:

Needs for connecting for Fellowship on CalvaryNet via your computer
Modem.

1. Modem that will emulate ANSI: Check your SETTINGS and there is
usually something to that effect in the Terminal Emulation area.

2. Communications program. see #1 for settings. Oh.. set it to
   N,8,1

3. Have your communications program dial up one of the Calvary Chapel
computer Ministries. The HOST system is at 619-630-7437
   (MODEM LINE).

4. Follow the prompts to get registered on that system.. it is
FREE. I am at your service, and can be reached at 619-630-0340
and then choosing option #1 when the recording comes on.

5. Check into an OFF-LINE Mail reader... saves ya $$$$$.

FOR INFORMATION REGARDING THE USE OF A BBS'S OFF-LINE MAIL DOOR,
READ THE FILE CC-MAIL.TXT in the CALV????.ZIP FILE (???? = Month/Yr).

FOR STARTING UP A BBS AND/OR RELAYING CALVARYNET:
================================================

If you wish to actually RELAY CalvaryNet on your computer,
   you will need the following:

1. A dedicated computer with a dedicated phone line.
{sometimes you can use your own computer at home without
having it just for the BBS... if your computer is fast
enough to run both a BBS and handle your own needs at the
same time} A dedicated phone line is a must.

2. A bbs software. There are many to choose from.. some are
not to expensive ($70-$80), and some are a bit more expensive
{100-$150}. You get what you pay for usually.

3. Prayer  {whoops! This was #1}

4. COSTS:
   a. the cost of a dedicated phone line. If you are relaying
CalvaryNet long distance {minimum calls are 3 times a
week} you have to consider the cost of a night long distance
phone call for approx. 1 to 3 minutes per night calling.

   b. The original cost of the bbs software.

   c. The cost of a larger Hard Drive if needed ($150 - $180)
for 250 mB to 420 MB hard drive.

   d. The Cost of a 9600 baud or higher modem (CHEAP now).
14400 is about the standard now.

   e. Time invested to have FUN making you BBS characteristic of
your personal taste and such... ie.. welcome screens and
      other such stuff.

   f. BBS add-ons.. like MAIL door, that allows others to log on
your bbs, go into a mail door, download and upload mail.. and
then log off quickly.... and then using an OFF LINE MAIL READER
to answer and write mail while OFF YOUR SYSTEM.. saving $$$.
{You can do this too if you want to just be ACTIVE on Calvary
Network without running a bbs per se}.

If you have any further questions, I am your servant my dear friend.
