                           "FINANCIAL AID"

Financial Aid for College is granted to people from all walks of
life, from students with high grade point averages to low grade
point averages, from the wealthy to the poor, and from athletic
students to the handicapped.

                      "TYPES OF FINANCIAL AID"

Financial Aid for College comes in different forms such as:
Scholarships, Grants, Fellowships, Loans, Internships, and
Cooperative Work-Study Programs. The basic difference between
these are as follows:

SCHOLARSHIPS and GRANTS do not have to be repaid. However,
Grants are usually awarded on the basis of need. While
Scholarships may be awarded on the basis of need and/or
some other criteria, (such as academic achievement, etc.),
Scholarships and Grants are often called GIFT AID.

LOANS must be repaid, usually after graduation or leaving school.

WORK-STUDY PROGRAMS involve earning money through a job, usually one
arranged for you by the College. Loans and Work-Study
         Programs are "SELF-HELP AID".

                      "SOURCES OF FINANCIAL AID"

Overall, there are four primary Financial Aid Source areas which you
may check into.

They are:

The Federal Government,
The State Governments,
The College and Universities themselves, and
Private Aid Programs.

                        IN THE NEXT NEWSLETTER
