                            Step-By-Step Setup
                            ==================

READ THIS DOCUMENT AND FOLLOW IT STEP-BY-STEP!

NOTICE: THE UNREGISTERED VERSION OF TCDEP IS LIMITED TO 4 CD-ROMS.

   --------------------------------------------------------------------

   1. Set up all of your CD-ROMs in your TriBBS File Areas.

If you have 3 CD-ROM DRIVES and 7 CD-ROMS, here is how you should
set up your TriBBS File Areas. For Example: Your 7 CD-ROM Names
are Games 1, Games 2, Games 3, and so on...

      Offline CD Number
In TriBBS Setup CD-ROM Name Online or Offline
      =================    ===========   =================
      0 Games 1 Online
      0 Games 2 Online
      3 Games 3 Offline
      0 Games 4 Online
      5 Games 5 Offline
      6 Games 6 Offline
      7 Games 7 Offline

Take special notice of the Offline CD Numbers used in the above
example. If a CD-ROM is online, still leave room for an Offline CD
Number for it, for when you toggle it to offline! If a CD-ROM is
online, TriBBS automatically sets the "Offline CD Number" in your
      TriBBS setup to 0.

I recommend that you use the Master Index on each CD-ROM file area
and the Master Index ONLY! For more help in setting up your File
      Areas, run CONFIG /?.

   2. Create an File Area on your BBS just for Offline Requests!

   3. Run CONFIG.EXE and press A for Main Setup.

      A. Main TriBBS Directory.
Enter your Main TriBBS Directory where your BBS.EXE, BOARD.BAT,
         and MWORK directory resides.

      B. File Area Path.
Enter the Directory where the Requested files should be copied
to. An example would be "C:\FILES\REQUESTS". This should be
set to same directory that your File Area Path is set to in your
TriBBS File Area Setup. (The File Area created in Step #2).

      C. File Area File List
Enter the full path and filename to the file list for the
Requested files. This is the file list shown to the user when
they "List Files" from the File Menu. An example would be
"C:\FILES\REQUESTS\FILES.LST". This should be set to the same
directory that your File Area File List is set to in your TriBBS
File Area Setup. (The File Area created in Step #2).

      D. TCDEP Log File Toggle
When set to ON, every program (except CONFIG.EXE) will add to a
log file called TCDEP.LOG. This will contain important
information such as when you run TOFR.EXE (Copies files from
CD-ROM to hard drive) and a file is not found, it will be
recorded in the log file. This is a registered version feature
         only.

      E. Conference Number
This is the Conference Number (Same as in the TriBBS Setup) to
insert the message to. Each time you run TOFR.EXE and a file is
copied from the CD-ROM to the Hard Drive, a message is left to
the user telling them that the file is now online and they may
download it. Unregistered users are forced to use conference #1.
Registered users may choose any conference they wish. It is
recommend that you set up a separate conference just for Offline
         File Requests.

      F. Delete Old File Requests After
This is the number of days to keep old File Requests. DELOFR
will automatically delete old file requests after this number of
days. This is a registered version feature only.

   4. Run CONFIG.EXE and press B for CD-ROM Setup.

For each CD-ROM, you must enter 3 pieces of information. The first
piece of information is the Name of the CD-ROM. The second is the
TriBBS File Area Number where the CD-ROM File Areas begin. The
third is the TriBBS File Area Number where the CD-ROM File Areas
end. TCDEP supports up to 300 CD-ROMs (4 in the Unregistered
Version). You will need to enter this information for every CD-ROM
you have, whether it is online or offline! The CD-ROM Number shown
in this part of the program MUST match the Offline CD-ROM Number set
      in the TriBBS File Areas.

   5. Create a TriBBS event that runs every night or once a week to run
DELOFR.EXE. This program deletes old file requests if you have
registered. If you have NOT registered, it still runs but does not
      delete the old file requests.
