          TYPES OF DISKS
The computer uses four different Capacity disk-drives.

          LOW DENSITY DISK DRIVES (2)
There are two SIZES (Capacity) of Low Density disk drives:
            A 5 inch disk with a capacity of 360 kilobytes (K).
            A 3 inch disk with a capacity of 720 kilobytes (K).

A computer such as an old XT model uses these Low Density disk drives.
To Format either of the above disks, requires this Format command:

                    Format A: <Press Enter key>

          If disk is in your B: drive...Type: Format B: <Press Enter key>.

          HIGH DENSITY DISK DRIVES (2)
There are two SIZES (Capacity) of High Density disk drives.
A 5 inch disk with a capacity of 1.2 Megabytes (1.2 Million bytes).
A 3 inch disk with a capacity of 1.44 Megabytes (1.44 Million bytes).

All computer models 386, 486 and some 286's have High Density disk drives.
To Format either 5 or 3 inch size disk requires this Format command:
          At the C:\> prompt type:

                      Format A: or Format B:

depending on which disk drive contains the disk.

          FORMATTING LOW DENSITY DISKS
Low Density disks...360K and 720K... can be properly
formatted in a Low or High Density disk drive.

High Density disks (1.2MB or 1.44MB) can be formatted ONLY
             in High Density disk drives.

HOW TO FORMAT LOW DENSITY DISKS
In A High Density Disk Drive:

Insert a 5 inch Low Density (360k) into the A: drive of
a computer that has a High Density disk drive (Model 386 or 486).

          At the C:\> prompt type: Format A:/F:360 <Press Enter>.

For a 3 inch Low Density (720K) disk use this command:
At the C:\> prompt type: Format A:/F:720 <Press Enter key>.
