COLUMNS/MATH/SORT TROUBLESHOOTING
1.  Check WP51 General Troubleshooting, and then check the following:

4.  Exit WP, come back in and try again.

    problem.  Include results of all troubleshooting steps.  Include any

    eliminate the problem.
4.  Hardware information including computer brand/model, base memory,
    expanded memory, graphics card and monitor type/model, math co-processor,
    type of keyboard.
5.  Version and type of DOS.
6.  Exact contents of your AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS files.
7.  Hard disk size and capacity.
8.  COLUMNS:  Include everything in the Column definition menu so that the
    problem can be duplicated.  Include the type of columns, the number of
    columns, the margins used and whether or not the columns span pages.
9.  MATH:  Include everything in the Math definition menu.  Include the
    number of math columns, the types, as well as any formulas used.  Also,
    include the tab settings used.
10. SORT:  Include all of the information in the Sort menu.  Include the
    type of sort, the keys, and the select statement, if any.  Also include
    whether it is ascending or descending.  Are you sorting from the screen
    to the screen, or to a file?

DISPLAY TROUBLESHOOTING
1.  Check WP51 General Troubleshooting, and then check the following:
2.  Check WPINFO (wpinfo.exe) for the display type.
3.  Select the correct graphics driver in WP.  Also try auto-select.  This is
    found by pressing Shift-F1, 2, 2.
4.  Select the correct text driver, if you are using one.  Auto-select the
    text driver also.  This is found by pressing Shift-F1, 2, 3.
5.  Try without a text driver selected.
6.  Exit WP, come back in and try again.
7.  Use appropriate startup options listed in the manual.
8.  Check Display Pitch (Shift-F8, 3, 1).
9.  Run vanilla.  Narrow the problem to a particular TSR, (terminate stay
    resident program), if possible. 
10. Try to duplicate from a blank screen.
11. Check what mode the graphics card is in. 
12. Check Screen Font.  If it isn't NORMAL, try normal.
13. Check Initial Codes in Setup and Document Initial Codes.
14. Check to see if the WP.DRS file is present.

MOUSE TROUBLESHOOTING

3.  Select the correct Mouse Port, or try another port.  This is found by
    pressing Shift-F1, 1, 2).
4.  Run vanilla (no other programs running resident or in memory).
5.  Exit WP, come back in and try again.
6.  Do you load a MOUSE.COM file?  If so, is Mouse Driver (MOUSE.COM) selected
    as the Mouse Type?  If you load MOUSE.COM or MOUSE.SYS, try using a WP
    driver, if available.  Can you successfully use a WordPerfect Mouse Driver?
7.  Use appropriate startup options in the manual, if applicable.
8.  Does the mouse work outside of WP?

SPELLER/THESAURUS/HYPHENATION TROUBLESHOOTING

3.  Check for any third party spellers/hyphenation/thesaurus modules.
4.  Check for expanded memory.  Is it being used?
5.  Have you modified your .LEX file with the SPELL.EXE program?
6.  Reinstall the Speller/Hyphenation/Thesaurus disks.
7.  Have you compressed the .LEX, or .SUP, file?
8.  Check the language.
