WORDPERFECT 5.1 FOR DOS GENERAL TROUBLESHOOTING

TROUBLESHOOTING
1.   Check the release date of WP (press F3 at the WP document screen).
2.   Read the appropriate sections in the manual and workbook.
3.   Check Reveal Codes to make sure there are no incorrect codes.
4.   Check Setup-Initial Codes (Shift-F1, 4, 3).
5.   Check Document Initial Codes (Shift-F8, 3, 2).
6.   Try to duplicate the problem from a clear screen.
7.   Try startup options listed in the manual (if applicable).
8.   Exit WP, come back in and try again.
9.   Run vanilla. (Rename CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT files.  Create a new
     CONFIG.SYS file with the commands FILES=20 and BUFFERS=5.)
     Reboot the computer and try again.  NOTE:  If you are unsure how to do
     this, please have someone help you with this step.
10.  Try it on another computer, if available.

REQUIRED INFORMATION FOR REPORTING A PROBLEM
1.  Version and release date of WP (press F3 at WP document screen).
2.  Printer driver date and definition used (press Shift-F7, S, H).
3.  A complete description of the problem and keystrokes to duplicate the
    problem.  Include results of all troubleshooting steps.  Include any
    situations where the problem does not occur or "work arounds" that
    eliminate the problem.
4.  Hardware information including computer brand/model, base memory,
    expanded memory, graphics card and monitor type/model, math co-processor,
    type of keyboard.
5.  Version and type of DOS.
6.  Exact contents of your AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS files.
7.  Hard disk size and capacity.

MATERIALS TO BE SENT IN (UPLOADED) WITH A PROBLEM REPORT
1.  A document file that duplicate the problem (if applicable).
2.  Include copies of your AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS files.
3.  Please include your full name, address, phone number, WordPerfect
    license number, and size of diskettes your computer needs (3" or 5").
    You may send this information privately in a Comment to Sysop (use the
    "C" command on the BBS) or in an uploaded README file.
4.  NOTE--PLEASE READ:  Make sure you zip (compress) all requested files
    into one .ZIP file before upload to facilitate processing.  This will
    also ensure file integrity as well as decrease uploading time.  For
    more information about zipping (compressing) files, please read
    Bulletin 21 or download NEWUSER.ZIP.
