If you use a VT320 terminal regularly on a VAX and then try to use Procomm
Plus as a terminal emulator to access a VAX, you may have noticed that the
default keyboard map that comes with PCPLUS is pitiful. It doesn't come
anywhere close to emulating the keyboard of a VT320 terminal. I've included
here a PCPLUS.KBD that has a number of changes to the VT320 terminal keyboard
mapping that you might find useful. I've only changed the VT320, not the
other VT terminals, but you can easily modify the other terminal's keyboard
maps if you have a need to emulate a lower model VT terminal.

There were a few concessions that I had to make because of constraints on the
use of some of the keys on a PC. The top row of the numeric keypad can still
be emulated with F1-F4. But I like it to be on the numeric keypad. So the
three rightmost keys of the top row of the numeric keypad are now PF2-PF4.
You cannot refine the NumLock key which is in the PF1 position on my 101 key
keyboard. So... F1 is still PF1 (the GOLD key). I couldn't find a better
place on my keyboard to put it. The Grey + key on the numeric keypad takes
up two positions of a VT320 keypad. I use the [Delete Character] key more
often than the [Delete Word] key. So I made the + key emulate [Delete
Character]. Ctrl-F12 performs the [Delete Word] function. Everything else
on the numeric keypad operates correctly (you must have NumLock turned on,
though). With a 101 key keyboard, the separate pad of keys to the left of
the numeric keypad is available, so I attempted to map them also. The words
written on the keys are not the same as the words on the VT320 keyboard. I
decided to make the keys correspond with the words written on it as much as
possible rather than put the keys in the position that they are in on a
VT320, since my fingers don't know those keys as well as the numeric keypad.
You could easily move them around to the positions that they are in on a VT320
if your fingers balk at my positioning. I made the "Home" key perform the
"Find" function and the "End" key perform the "Select" function. The three
grey keys at the top right cannot be redefined. So I made the F12 key perform
the "Do" function. The "Help" function can be performed with PF2, so I didn't
create another key to do that. I also fixed the Backspace key to perform the
destructive backspace that a VT320 usually does, not the "Beginning of the
line" function Datastorm has it performing. If you're too lazy to press
Ctrl-H for that function, then press Ctrl-Backspace for it. <grin> Refer to
the following table for all the translations that I made:

            PC 101 Keyboard VT320 Keyboard
            ===============         ==============
		F12 Do
		Ctrl-F12 Delete Word
		Backspace Backspace
		Ctrl-Backspace BS (Ctrl-H)
		Insert Insert Here
		Delete Remove
		Home Find
		End Select
		Page Up Previous Screen
		Page Down Next Screen
		Grey / PF2
		Grey * PF3
		Grey - PF4
		Grey + Delete Character

Because I've defined the Grey PageUp and PageDown keys, you can no longer use
them to initiate a PCPLUS Upload or Download. You'll need to either use
Shift-PgUp (Numeric 9) and Shift-PgDn (Numeric 3) assuming you have the
NumLock on or you can initiate those from the PCPLUS menu. Hopefully, this
will help your use of PCPLUS with a VAX. If you have any comments or
suggestions, feel free to contact me:
