ProBuilder 2.0 is the simplest, easiest-to-use data
dictionary for your FoxPro 2.x applications. Getting up and
running is a quick and (relatively) painless process. Just
follow the simple steps outlined below, and get to work with
the power of ProBuilder!

ķ
 Installing ProBuilder
Ľ
You can install ProBuilder in two ways.

        1) The simplest is to copy the PROBUILD.APP file
from the distribution diskette into your FoxPro
            directory.

            --- OR ---

        2) If you want to work with the ProBuilder project
and source code files, use this approach:

              a. At the DOS prompt, change to your FoxPro
directory (which we'll assume here is
                  C:\FOXPRO2).

              b. Insert the distribution diskette in the
appropriate drive (we'll assume here that
                  it's the A: drive).

              c. Type "A:SETUP" at the DOS prompt. This
will create a PROBUILD directory under the
                  current directory, and install the
                  ProBuilder project, application, and
                  source files in directories underneath.

Either way, all you need to do to run the application
is to type "DO probuild.app" in the FoxPro command window.

 Registering ProBuilder
Ľ
*
* Why register?
If you register your copy of ProBuilder, you will be
eligible for:

   - reduced cost upgrades to future versions
   - lifetime technical support
   - early access to the latest TWS programs

The cost of registering is so small, and the benefits so
large, that it doesn't pay not to register!

*
* How do I register?
TWS has a unique method of registering our software. Rather
than have you sit down with a pen and paper and fill in the
blanks, registration is a simple FoxPro application included
on the source diskette (the source code for this mini-app
is not included).

Start the registration software by typing A:REGISTER.APP
(assuming A: is the diskette drive holding the distribution
diskette) from the FoxPro command window. The app that
follows will ask you basic information about you, your
computer, how you heard about TWS and ProBuilder, and more.

When you're finished completing the information, select the
Print push button. This calls a printing dialog (the source
code for this can be found in the REPORTS screen set in the
PROBUILD\SCREENS directory) wherein you can choose how to
print out the registration form. This will also determine
what process you will use to forward your registration:

        1) Printing to paper allows you to register by
mailing the form to TWS via the post office.

        2) Printing to a file on disk allows you to create
a short text file that you can then send to TWS
directly via CompuServe. The cost of sending
this tiny file via CIS is the same (or less)
than mailing it via the post office, and results
            in immediate registration.

Your serial number is branded onto the registration
software, and written on your distribution diskette. Please
refer to it whenever contacting TWS about upgrades or
technical support.

    Getting Started
Ľ
ProBuilder holds all definitions for your databases in a
dictionary file called STRUCTUR.DBF. This file is created
automatically at startup, or when you choose to create
another dictionary file for another application under
development.

If you have existing projects (with databases already on
disk) whose structures you wish to import to ProBuilder, the
Import menu bar on the main ProBuilder menu will perform
that function for you.

For more information, refer to the Getting Started help
topic in ProBuilder's on-line help system (or, if you
installed the support files, the PB_HELP.DBF file).

ķ
   Technical Support
Ľ
TWS offers free lifetime technical support for the functions
and processes from which ProBuilder is built, and the
product as a whole. Question regarding the day-to-day use
or general logical structure of ProBuilder can be posed
either by:

        - CompuServe (by mail or in Microsoft's FoxForum),
           to 73730,3201, or

        - Telephone at (703)354-6283.

If you have questions about adapting the product to other
purposes, modifying the source code, or developing
relational database systems, TWS offers fee-based consulting
and training services.

               ķ
                 Thanks for your support!
                 You can continue to count
                 on the best in developer
                 tools from the folks at
