ABOUT SPSTRIP 1.0

Tired of downloading huge multipart uuencoded files to your PC and then having
to edit them by hand before uudecoding them? If you are then SPstrip may be
for you.

SPstrip is a command line uuencoded file preprocessor that runs on the PC under
DOS (MS or DR/Novell). SPstrip will only process a single file at a time, but
that file may be made up of several files internally. These internal files MUST
be in their proper order.

For example, suppose you download three parts of a uuencoded file. In DOS you
should combine them as follows,

	copy file1.uue+file2.uue+file3.uue result.uue

Now the file result.uue is ready for processing as follows,

	spstrip result.uue output.uue

And that's it! If you get your files from USENET (a.k.a. NETNEWS) you can
concatenate the parts before you download them from within your newsreader. On
NETNEWS under CMS I just nnsave the parts in order to the same file. USENET
under UNIX may have similar commands.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

DOS 3.3 or later (SPstrip was developed under DR-DOS 6.0)
DOS uudecode utility to decode the stripped output file
