Firestone is a classic example of the architectual phase of golf that
determined long was better. The sixteenth hole plays at a very long 625 yards
from the pro tees, reachable only in three strokes. The whole course is a
resounding 7173 yards long. Since the initial design by Mr. Jones the course
has undergone many changes. Recently Jack Nicklaus was called in to redesign
some of the greens.
This signature course design was done from numerous sources. The South
course has been very well documented in such books as the "World Atlas of Golf"
and "Courses of the PGA Tour". I also used a souvenir book, a caddy shot book
and some personal experience from walking up and down hills at last years
World Series of Golf.
This is actually a revised revised (that's the third time)version from
my first attempt using the original Unlimited Golf Design program. The
difference between the "Unlimited" and "Signature" versions need not be
documented here so I won't. Thanks for giving Firestone a try.

I've also done other courses for the signature edition including:

Kingsmill C.C.
Forest Oaks C.C.
TPC at Avenel
TPC at Southwind
TPC at Scottsdale (I guess I'm almost TPC'd out)
