PRACTICE RULES

 1. Wait for all aircraft to enter the game before taking off. Start takeoff
roll when all aircraft are visible in external view.
 2. All aircraft take off in formation to the West, and climb to 2,000 feet.
In aircraft without altimeters, fly west at moderate climb until timer
    reads 7:30.
 3. After climb-out, Allied aircraft turn right 90 degrees, fly North until
"You sense an enemy" message appears. German aircraft turn left 90
degrees, fly South until "You sense an enemy" message appears. Pilots
    may continue to climb.
 4. All aircraft make 180 degree turn to face opponents.
 5. In 1 v 1 engagements, fly head-on pass left-to-left or right-to-right,
without opening fire. Fight's on after pass.
 6. In 2 v 2 engagements, bracket, drag, or other decoy tactics may be used.
    Open fire at will.
 7. In 1 v 2 engagements, open fire at will.
 8. After a victory or crash due to pilot error, victorious aircraft orbit in
combat area west of the aerodrome. No combat over aerodrome unless timer
is under 2:00. Vanquished aircraft must be allowed to climb to 1000 feet
before engaging again. Open fire at will.
 9. Alternate to rule 8: After a victory or crash due to pilot error,
vanquished pilot must press Alt-X and leave battle. Engagement ends when
all aircraft from one side are destroyed.

TOURNAMENT RULES FOR 2 v 2 POOL PLAY

 1. Each bracket will consist of four pilots, hereafter referred to as pilots
    A, B, C, and D. Pilots will have been seeded 1, 2, 3, and 4.
 2. Pilots will fight six engagements in partnership with each other. Each
pilot will fly Allied (a) aircraft three times and German (g) aircraft
three times, in partnership with each other pilot twice, according to the
    following table:

    A-B(a) v C-D(g)
    A-C(a) v B-D(g)
    A-D(g) v B-C(a)
    A-B(g) v C-D(a)
    A-C(g) v B-D(a)
    A-D(a) v B-C(g)

 3. FSFORUM Practice Rules of Engagement 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6 apply.
 4. A pilot who is shot down or crashes is OUT of that engagement.
The pilot may go to external view to check for personal victories, and
must then press Alt-X to exit the engagement immediately.
 5. An engagement ends when both pilots on one team are shot down or crash,
or when the ten minute timer has elapsed. When only one team is left
flying, pilots must go to external view to get kill statistics from the
score panel. They may then press Alt-X to exit the engagement.
Note: point statistics on the external view score panel are irrelevant.
 6. At the end of an engagement, points are awarded or deducted according to
    the following table:

    Personal victory +3
    Team victory +2
    Shot down -2
    Crash -3

A personal victory is awarded for each kill displayed on the score panel
    that shows in external view.

    A team victory is awarded:
    a. to the wingman of a pilot who scores a personal victory, if still
flying when the personal victory is scored.
    b. to the opponents of a pilot who crashes, if still flying when the
       crash occurrs.

 7. The pilot with the highest cumulative score over all six engagements is
    the winner.
