Thank you for taking time to read this file. Hopefully you will
gain information about and participate in The Sports Connection
Golf Tournaments.

TSC offers golf tournaments for all major computer golf

TSC is currently holding tournaments monthly, with a tentative

Call The Sports Connection before the next tournament. Leave a
comment to the sysop stating that you wish to participate in the
JNSE tournament. Download the Tournament Pack found on TSC under
the name TSCTOURN.ZIP (if you'd rather not spend the time online,
a disk (3 or 5) can be mailed to you for $1.00, just mention it
in the comment to the sysop). Practice on the courses, and during
any one of the tournament days, logon to TSC, read the personal
mail to you, and logoff. Set your computer date to the date
specified in the letter, and play JNSE in the TOURN mode. The
courses must also be played in the order specified. Within 270
minutes (4 hours) of your original logon, upload the RES files
from the three rounds you've just played to TSC. It is also
possible to play one round at a time if you make it known that
this is the way you wish to play. After the tournament is over
scores will be calculated. Scoring will be done in one of the
following two ways:

  1) Harris Scoring System - Scores for the front, the back, and
entire round will be calculated. Then the scores of each will
then be ranked, from lowest to highest. The highest score in each
category will receive one point, the second highest - two points,
and so on, with the most points awarded for the lowest score. The
points will be added and the player with the most total points
wins.

Example:
    Front Back 18 Total Pts
    1] Bill 33 - 3 1] Jim 34 - 3 1] Bill 69 - 3 Bill 8
    2] Bob 36 - 2 2] Bill 36 - 2 2] Jim 74 - 2 Jim 6
    3] Jim 40 - 1 3] Bob 42 - 1 3] Bob 78 - 1 Bob 4

A chart like that would be set up for each course and then
whoever has the most total points would win.

  2) Total Stroke Scoring - Each player would add his strokes on
all three rounds and whoever had the lowest wins.

The Harris System will be used for the December 1992 tourney.

Call TSC and leave a comment that says you are going to
participate in the Links 386 Tournament. On one of the
tournament days, call TSC, read your personal mail. Set your
computer's date to the date stated in the message. Play three
rounds of the course in record mode. Upload the REC files to TSC,
within five hours of you original logon. Final standings will be
computed after the tournament is over. Scoring will probably
use the Total Stroke Scoring method, as described above.

Jack Nicklaus Unlimited Golf & Links Tournaments

Currently there is not enough demand for tournaments in
either of these games. If there are some people who are
interested in these tourneys, please let your opinion be heard at
TSC. Tournaments will be scheduled if there is enough interest in
them. JNUG will follow the JNSE format, and Links would use a
version of the Links 386 Pro format.
