                                 DOSINFO.TXT

If you are running OS/2 and your CD ROM is supported by OS/2 you can
use the INSTALL program to install from CD or create diskettes. If
your CD ROM is not supported from OS/2, and you are able to access
the CD ROM from DOS, you can still create OS/2 CD install diskettes or
the diskettes for OS/2 and the other products.

The utility LOADDSKF is used to create the actual diskette from
disk images that are on the CD ROM. LOADDSKF.EXE is in the \INSTALL
directory. Since LOADDSKF is FAPI, it can be run from either DOS or
    OS/2.

To install OS/2 the best first choice is to create the CD install
diskettes and use them to install from the CD. The two CD install
diskettes are created with the following two commands:

    D:\INSTALL\LOADDSKF D:\OS2\CDINST\<size>\DISK0.DSK d:

    D:\INSTALL\LOADDSKF D:\OS2\CDINST\<size>\DISK1.DSK d:

where D: is the drive letter of the CD ROM
          <size> is 35 for 3.5" diskettes, 525 for 5.25" diskettes
d: is the drive letter of your diskette drive (A: or B:)

NOTE: Use previously formatted diskettes for the target (d:).

Then with the DISK0 diskette in drive A:, reboot your system and
follow the instructions to install OS/2.

Diskettes can be created for the products listed below:

      Product Location
      ------- --------

      OS/2 Base \OS2\DISKIMGS
      OS2Toolkit \DEVTOOLS\OS2TK21\DISKIMGS
      Debugger \DEVTOOLS\OS2TK21\DISKIMGS
      Multimedia Base \MMPM2\DISKIMGS

To use LOADDSKF to create the first 3.5" diskette of the OS/2 Toolkit
    for example you would type:

    D:\INSTALL\LOADDSKF D:\DEVTOOLS\OS2TK21\DISKIMGS\35\DISK1.DSK d:

where D: is the drive letter of the CD ROM
d: is the drive letter of your disketted drive (A: or B:)

NOTE: Use previously formatted diskettes for the target (d:).
