         DEMO VERSION

NOTE: Some of the files mentioned in this electronic book do not
accompany the demo version due to space constraints on the disk.
This is a fully functional copy of the program with the exception
that it has only two records in it rather than over 3,500 and you
are limited to being able to enter a maximum of 10 vendors and 20
         products.

This product was introduced February 22, 1994 after extensive
testing and de-bugging. We feel we have a solid product.

WARNING: We do not know whether it is a bug or not, but we have
noticed that if you shell out of Windows and launch BFP, you are
not always able to access the pick files for vendor products. This
is a problem that appears to be random and not on all systems. The
only time it has arisen is when shelled out of Windows. If you
encounter this problem, please let us know by completing the bug
report at the end of the Manual chapter.

To launch the program, type BFP <press enter key>

This demo may be run from a floppy or can be copied into a directory
         on your hard drive (recommended).

                                INTRODUCTION

This is an electronic book that contains a brief explanation of
what BFP is and how it works; a blueprint for generating
additional profits with no additional personnel or equipment; a
DataWare Productions Catalog, and a list of a portion of Cy
Stapleton's collection of antique printed pieces that is being
         broken up.

We ask that before you attempt to install BFP that you at least
         scan through the "manual".

Before you attempt to install the program, make certain that your
         CONFIG.SYS has the following line:

                FILES=20 (or more)

You can check this by typing the following command at your C:\>
         prompt:

                TYPE CONFIG.SYS

If this line is not in your CONFIG.SYS, you will need to edit
that line using a text editor, the horrible DOS editor, EDLIN,
or, if you have DOS 6.0 or higher, EDIT. See your DOS manual for
how to use these editors or the documentation with any other text
         editor you might use.

If you do not have a CONFIG.SYS, you will need to create one that
has this line. Again, see your DOS manual to see how to create a
         CONFIG.SYS file.

Once you have scanned through the manual, you can install BFP on
your system by placing the distribution disk in either drive A or
drive B and log onto that drive.

When the distribution disk is in drive A (or B), and your DOS
prompt reads A:\> you will type the following command to install
         the program:

                INSTALL <press your ENTER key>

and follow the instructions on your screen.

The first thing you want to do when you come up to the BFP main
menu is to touch your Control + U keys at the same time. If you
want to try the phone dialer to see if it works, type in your
communication port number, the type of phone dialing, your long
distance prefix (normally 1), and your area code.

If you want a custom picture to come up when launching BFP, type
Yes to "Display Opening Logo". The opening logo that comes with
BFP is our Fat Cat. You can use any .PCX file for the opening logo
providing you rename that graphic CAT.PCX. When I say you can use
"any" .PCX file, that is not exactly correct. There are numerous
different types of .PCX files and all may not work. Just try it
and see if it works for you. Type N if you don't want to display
         the opening logo.

It is very important that you enter your serial number in the
bottom line of this screen. If that serial number is not entered,
you will not be able to use the update utility to add any updated
datafiles that will be available in the future. You don't need any
starting or trailing 0's - just the 3- or 4-digit serial number.

This electronic book containing the documentation files was
created using the shareware program, WRITER's DREAM. This is one
of my favorite utilities. Since there was room on this
documentation disk, I have included a shareware version. The
filename is WRITER@.EXE and it is a self-extracting archive. To
extract the archive, make a directory on your hard drive and log
onto that directory. Once you are in that directory, place this
disk in drive A or B and type the following command:
                        A:\WRITER@ <press enter key>

We have also included another neat little utility program that you
can use to print the text files. The program is called PRINTUM,
and is a shareware program that was included for you to review. If
you like the program, please compensate the author for the very
low registration fee requested. PRINTUM is also in a self
extracting archive with the name PRINTUM@.EXE. It can be extracted
in the same manner you extract WRITER's DREAM.

To use PRINTUM, the syntax is as follows:

         Type PRINTUM <press ENTER key>
Enter the filename of the ASCII text file you wish to print.
When it asks for the number of columns to indent, we suggest that
you enter "0", since our text files are formatted with a 10 column
         indent.
There is not a formfeed at the end, so you will need to formfeed
the last page of each document.

If you like PRINTUM.EXE, we suggest that you copy it into either
your DOS or your UTILITY directory (or some other directory that
is in your path) so that you can access it from anywhere on your
         system.

The two other shareware programs incuded on this disk are HDIR and
FORMATQM. Their filenames are HDIR@.EXE and FORMATQ@.EXE and like
the above, are in self extracting archives.

HDIR is my absolute favorite shareware program. It is an
outstanding replacement for the DOS DIR command. You can display
your directories in blazing color and sorted by filename,
extension, date, size, etc. It's wonderful.

FORMATQM is the best of the disk formatting software I have found.
It is superior to the DOS FORMAT command and is much easier to
         use.

The text files included on this disk are as follows:
                INTRO.TXT - This file
                MANUAL.TXT - Documentation for BFP
                BROKER.TXT - Blueprint for Profits
                LIST1.TXT - List 1 of Cy's antiquities
                LIST2.TXT - List 2 of Cy's antiquities
OTHER.TXT - Other items from DataWare Productions
                ORDER.TXT - Order form
FAXREQ.TXT - Sample of our Vendor Fax Request form
                PRINTUM.DOC - Author's documentation for PRINTUM.EXE

Other files on this disk are:
FAXREQ@.EXE - A self extracting PCX graphic of BFP request form
HDIR@.EXE - A self extracting archive of HDIR
FORMATQ@.EXE - A self extracting archive of FORMATQM
PRINTUM@.EXE - A self extracting archive of PRINTUM
                WRITER@.EXE - A self extracting archive of WRITER'S DREAM

         Enjoy...
