TBBS GAINS FIRST BBS USENET PRESENCE

Aurora, CO, April 25, 1994 - eSoft announced the creation of the
comp.bbs.tbbs newsgroup on the Usenet network. Usenet newsgroups, an
integral part of the greater Internet metanetwork, are distributed to
computer sites worldwide giving TBBS sysops (system operators) a unique
opportunity to network with each other and obtain information about and
assistance with TBBS and TBBS related issues.

The "comp" (computer related) newsgroups on Usenet enjoy much wider
global distribution than "alt" and other ad-hoc newsgroups. They can
come into being only after a democratic proposal / voting process. The
comp.bbs.tbbs newsgroup passed handily, and by mid-March went live on
the Internet. The newsgroup is the first "comp" newsgroup supporting a
commercial BBS product.

The creation of this newsgroup is further evidence of the tremendous
interest in the Internet among operators of TBBS systems. eSoft is
firmly committed to providing integrated solutions for BBS / Internet
connectivity. eSoft is currently installing its own T1 connection to the
Internet, and its support BBS will be accessible via the Internet in
May, using only eSoft products.

One of these products, the Internet Protocol Adapter (IPAD), is in
testing and will be released later this year. When available, it will
allow TBBS sysops to connect their BBS system directly to the Internet
via TCP/IP through Ethernet, serial, or leased line connections. Users
of the TBBS system can then take full advantage of all Internet services
such as telnet and ftp, with an accessible, easy-to-use interface.

eSoft is the oldest producer of commercial BBS software. Its TBBS
product runs up to 64 high speed lines on a single DOS-based PC without
the need for LANs or multitaskers. TBBS has been available for over 12
years, and currently has a 25% share of the BBS software market.
