Letter from Phil
by Phil Becker

It's an exciting time at eSoft! We are growing at a rate I could only have
dreamed of when I started all this in 1980. This newsletter is the next step
in our expanding customer support activities, and I am sure you will see it
grow over the coming months as well.

I am sure you have seen our new advertising campaign by now, and in keeping
with the "Think About the Possiblities" campaign this newsletter is titled
"Possibilites". It will be published monthly, and I want it to be your
newsletter. Let me know what you want to see in it, and I'll try my best to
address any issues which have "popular support".

One thing I know you all are interested in is the current status of the
products under development. For me, the most exciting thing is seeing all of
the pieces I have envisioned for several years finally taking shape. The
synergy level of the current software is surprising even me. Each piece adds
to the other so the end result is truly more than the sum of its parts. TDBS
has really opened up a tremendous number of new applications for which
tbbs/tdbs is now the best choice.

TDBS version 1.1 is now in beta test and early results are quite exciting. It
is already three times faster than version 1.0, and is smoothly handling full
macros, complex keys for indexing and memo field support. It is too early to
predict an absolute release date, but I would think they way things are going
that summer looks pretty likely. Be sure to send in your tdbs 1.0
registration form to qualify for your free upgrade!

TIMS is the "new kid on the block" right now, and as a result is causing a lot
of talk. Those who have seen it in action are amazed at the smoothness of its
integration with tbbs, and the fact that multiuser network mail sessions are a
reality. tims 1.0 should be released by the time you read this, so get your
orders in!

There's a lot more happening, but I'm out of space. Guess I'll have to wait
until next month for the rest...
