TBBS COMMAND LINE OPTIONS
-------------------------

THIS INFORMATION APPLIES ONLY TO TBBS VERSION 2.1

INTRODUCTION

This document has a complete list of command line options for TBBS. Some of
these are documented in the manual; others are not.

OPTIONS FOR TBBS SINGLE LINE COMM DRIVER (TBBSDVR.COM)
AND MULTI-LINE SYSTEM PROGRAM (MLTBBS.EXE)

/B - Forced monochrome display, for situations where you have a
monochrome monitor connected to a color video adaptor.

/S - Invokes "snow removal" for older CGA monitors. It slows processing
and adds to system loading, so use this parameter only when
      needed.

/Pn - Sets the performance monitor averaging interval in seconds from
/P1 to /P9. The default is 5 seconds, and gives a pretty good
      "feel" for system performance.

OPTIONS FOR TBBS SINGLE LINE SYSTEM PROGRAM (TBBS.EXE)

/M - Tells TBBS to load the NetMail MAILER.EXE program to use as a
communications front-end for TBBS. See the Net Mail Option
      manual for more details.

OPTIONS FOR TBBS SINGLE LINE SYSTEM PROGRAM (TBBS.EXE)
AND MULTI-LINE SYSTEM PROGRAM (MLTBBS.EXE)

/R - Normally TBBS will take modems off-hook when a line is down or
when the system is taken off-line. This allows callers to
receive a busy signal under these conditions. In some
countries and US tariff districts this is not permitted. Using
the /R option forces TBBS to leave the modems on-hook in these
situations, which gives callers a "ring, no answer" condition.

/O: - Allows you to load option modules (such as TDBS, TIMS, and SYSOM).
Up to eight (8) modules may be loaded under TBBS 2.1. Full
directions for this parameter are given in the documentation
for each option module. Multiple option modules must be
separated by a comma, like this:

                /O:TIMS,TDBS,SYSOM

OPTIONS FOR TBBS MULTI-LINE (MLTBBS.EXE)

/I - This option changes the console display to show only the first
initial and last name of the caller. This can be used if you
have callers with long names and would rather see the entire
last name instead of having it truncated on the control console.

/F - Test each serial port for presence of a 16550 type UART. If it is
present, turn on FIFO handling for that port. This option is used
to prevent data overrun on input at high speed (19,200 or 38,400 bps)
and is required with certain hardware to avoid lost data on input.
It also will result in higher throughput at high speeds on ports which
are equipped with 16550 type UARTs.

/U - Force Unique Logon ID's. This switch will cause TBBS to disallow
the use of the same logon ID on more than one line at a time. If
it is set and a caller tries to log on with an ID which is already
in use, TBBS will display a file named DUPUSER.TXT (if it can be
found in the SET TBBSPATH= directory list). If the file cannot be
found, an internal message is displayed and then the caller is
logged off. DUPUSER.ANS will be displayed if it is found for a
caller with ANSI set on. If DUPUSER.ANS is not found, then
DUPUSER.TXT is displayed to ANSI callers as well.
