 euphratesby Mark L. Denslow

the sun rises in the east

            a lone crimson leaf
            fell into green euphrates
leading to arabian-blue sea and indian-red ocean
            like a boat of reed
            drifting in a gentle caress
            carefree with elemental wind chimes

            come the heavy clouds
            filled with white-life and black-death
snow falls vainly down to stay the holocaust
like a ship struggling in the maelstrom
red blood spurts forth the slit throat of the white lamb
            flesh smells burn up

the sun sets in the west

            lunar eclipse on
            this winter solstice night
            all lights extinguish
            sands freeze midway
            in the hourglass
            it will shatter

                                  -end-
