                       ******* To CT Users *******

CT is now shipped in compressed form. There are two files on this
disk: README and CTPAK.EXE. CTPAK.EXE is self extracting and
contains the following files:

CT.EXE, CT.HLP, CQWW.CTY, ARRL.CTY, WAE.CTY, SS.SEC, EXAMPLE.BIN,
RELEASE6.DOC, CT4SS.DOC, B2R.EXE, R2B.EXE, MASTER.DAT, QSL.EXE

To Install CT:

* Copy CTPAK.EXE to your destination drive and directory.
For example: COPY A:CTPAK.EXE C:\CT

* Change directory to your target drive and directory.
For example: CD C:\CT

* If you already have an older copy of CT.EXE, change its name to CT.SAV,
or copy it to a floppy, just in case something goes wrong.
For example: RENAME CT.EXE CT.SAV or COPY CT.EXE A:

* Similarly, save your existing copies of CQWW.CTY, ARRL.CTY,
and WAE.CTY.

*  Execute CTPAK.EXE
For example: CTPAK

* CTPAK will extract all of its files from itself, and prompt you if it is
about to overwrite an existing file. Answer YES to the overwrite prompt.

A Note About MASTER.DAT:

This is a compilation of callsigns used by SUPER CHECK PARTIAL
(ALT U or ALT F8). It is only useful on computers with expanded (not
extended) memory. If you do not have expanded memory, rename
MASTER.DAT as MASTER.SAV, otherwise CT will find and use MASTER.DAT
leaving almost no room for contacts! This file was last updated in
February 1990. It is seriously out of date. K1EA has not received
many disks from users for the 1990 ARRL DX and CQ WPX contests, so
nothing has been done.

Please use this data with care. You *MUST* copy the calls of contacts
yourself. Don't fool yourself, or try to fool others, by picking a call
from a SUPER CHECK PARTIAL list when you are not sure. The organizations
checking logs have much better data bases that reflect the calls actually
in the contest (not past data, like MASTER.DAT).

Guesses will be caught and penalized.

   See you in the pileups.
                                                   Ken K1EA
