Compatibility Statement
The Colorado Memory Systems (CMS) Jumbo 120, Jumbo 250 and QFA 700
internal tape backup drives and the accompanying TAPE software,
version 2.5x are compatible with LANtastic versions 4.xx and 5.xx.
CMS software version 3.x is NOT compatible with LANtastic versions
4.xx or 5.xx if running LANtastic server.

Product Overview
The CMS drives and software provide easy to use backup services
that can run over LANtastic networks.

Product Installation Notes
Follow the manufacturer's recommendations for hardware and software
installation. The manuals are detailed and easy to read and the
menu driven program interface is intuitive.

Product Execution Notes
The Tape software included with the CMS drives allows you to back
up any physical or logical disk drive that is connected to the PC
where the tape drive is located. Therefore, to back up a disk drive
across the network to the tape drive, the remote machine must be
running the LANtastic SERVER program. To back up the remote PC's
disk, you will have to redirect (NET USE) a logical drive to that
server and then execute the backup specifying that logical drive as
the source. If you use the command line interfaces for the Tape
software and the LANtastic NET program, you can automate the backup
process by creating a batch file. For example, the following batch
file could be used to backup a local C: drive and drives on a
remote server called SERVER1:

TAPE BACKUP C:\*.* /S/T="Backup of MYMACHINE"
NET USE F: \\SERVER1\C-DRIVE
TAPE BACKUP F:\*.* /S/T="Backup of SERVER1"
NET UNUSE F:

You can also use the automatic backup mode for scheduling backups
or backup sets. If the automatic mode is chosen during
installation, the installation routine correctly places loading of
the CMS AUTOBACK program at the beginning of the AUTOEXEC.BAT file.
If this feature is added manually after installation, make sure
that AUTOBACK is loaded before starting LANtastic or system crashes
may result. See the "Automatic Mode" section of Chapter 2 of the
"Software Installation and Operation Guide" for more information on
the installation and use of AUTOBACK.

Also, automatic backups will not begin if the LANtastic stand alone
server program ALONE is running on the system where the tape unit
is installed.
