                   LEAKING ROOF SCREENSAVER FOR WINDOWS 3.1
                   ========================================

A leak at the top of your display lets the rain run down your screen... as it
does so, your Windows Desktop will get soggy and will smudge and tear.
Ultimately, Leaking Roof will clear your screen to black... although this can
take many hours.

Installing the screensavers after decompression
===============================================
Your system must be running Windows 3.1 or or later to use this screensaver.
The screensaver takes about 26K of disk space.

Setting up and trying out the screensaver
=========================================
After copying the file into your Windows directory, open the Control Panel,
normally found in the 'Main' program group in the Program Manager.
Double-click on the Control Panel icon and then double-click on the
desktop option.

You can now select the screensaver from the list presented in the middle of
the options display.

Click 'Setup' to set up the screensaver to your taste. This screen saver has
an 'Info' button on its Setup display to tell you a little about it. Click
'Test' to try the screensaver out.

The main desktop options display lets you set the number of minutes before the
currently selected screensaver starts. For normal use, we suggest you set this
to 10 minutes or more. This is perfectly safe for your monitor and means that
the screensaver isn't likely to interrupt you when you're thinking or having a
break. Some older programs also perform long calculations or disk operations
without asking Windows not to start the screensaver so setting a long delay is
usually preferable.

Passwords
---------

This screensaver supports the Windows screensaver password system... you can
enable the password for the screensaver from its setup box. While screensaver
passwords are enabled and disabled separately for each program, Windows keeps
only one password for all the screensavers you're using.

De-installing the screensaver
-----------------------------
If at a later date, you wish to remove one or more screensavers,
perhaps to free up some disk space, you can do so as follows.

     Make sure the screensaver(s) you want to remove are not
     selected in the Control Panel Desktop display.

     Delete the relevant .SCR file from the main Windows directory.
     For example, the Leaking Roof screensaver is in the file LEAK.SCR.
     You can delete the file(s) using the Windows File Manager,
     the DOS DEL command or some other file management program.

     If you want to be extra tidy, you can remove the setup
     information for a particular screensaver from the CONTROL.INI
     file. CONTROL.INI is a text file which you can edit with the
     Windows Notepad or other text editor. It's a good idea to make
     a copy of it before making changes, just in case, and to be
     careful not to disturb other instructions within in.

     A screensaver's setup data is held in a few lines starting
     with a section heading like this: [Screensaver.name] where
     name is the name of the screensaver. Delete the section
     heading and the lines that follow up to the next blank line
     and section heading.

     This step isn't strictly necessary but it keeps the CONTROL.INI
     file small and tidy.

                               Have fun!
