Micro-Overhead is Shareware software. To receive a complete working
version, you must register it. Please read the Winhelp file
OHEAD-21.HLP for ordering information.

Micro-Overhead 2.1 requires VBRUN100.DLL be in your execution path.

Micro-Boot is only the "tip of the iceberg" in Micro-Overhead, but no
functionality has been withheld from Micro-Boot. It is complete and
ready to use in it's Shareware form. It has, however, become part of
a package that we know you will find useful in your day-to-day
computing.

Installation for New Users of Micro-Boot.

We suggest you create a new directory called OVERHEAD, and
unzip the accompanying files into it.

Using Notepad, open the OVERHEAD.INI file to confirm that the
information included is the same as your system's configuration.
the Boot Drive and location of your Windows Directory is
important. We've used the most common, but you may have
changed the name of your Windows directory, or may be running
a "stacked" drive which boots from drive D:. Ignore the
reference to the Launcher. It is inactive in the Shareware
	version of Micro-Overhead.

From File Manager, drag OVERHEAD.EXE into a Group Window of
your choice. This way, Windows 3.1 will automatically assign
	your Working Directory for you.

Double-click on the Overhead icon, and you are in business.
Clicking the [?] button will load the WinHelp OHEAD-21.HLP
file for access to operational documentation.

Use CAUTION when using Micro-Boot. An inadvertent typo when
configuring a new Level could well crash your system. Reading
the operational documentation accessed with the [?] button
prior to using Micro-Boot is highly recommended.

Clicking the [boot] button will run Micro-Boot.

Your FIRST priority is that you select the "Save Active" button
to configure Level One to your current configuration, which we
know is functional. Click on the [1] button when the selection
	panel appears.

The Comparison Editor will load automatically, and you should
load all four configuration files into the Editor and add
identifying Labels to them. You can change these later when
you are more familiar with Micro-Boot, but examples to insert
as the first line of each are:

	Config.sys File . . .
bootcfg.001	REM Level 1 Default Configuration

	Autoexec.bat File . . .
bootexec.001	REM Level 1 Default Configuration

	System.ini File . . .
		sysini.001	; Level 1 Default Configuration

	Win.ini File . . .
		winini.001	; Level 1 Default Configuration

These Identification Labels are used by Micro-Boot during
reconfiguration, and they will also help you to keep the
different files organized and recognizable using other viewers.

At this point, the installation is complete.

Installation for previous users of Micro-Boot or MB-Boot 2.x or 3.x:

Copy your existing configuration files to a safe directory, if
you plan to install Micro-Boot 5.0 in the same directory.

We suggest, however, that you create a new directory called
OVERHEAD, and unzip the accompanying files into it.

Please see above concerning editing the OVERHEAD.INI file.

Rev 2.1 supports only 10 Levels of configuration. If you have
configurations numbered greater than .010 you should determine
which are the most important and renumber them accordingly.

Copy your existing .00n files into the new OVERHEAD directory
AFTER installing our files. This will overwrite our
examples, which are used primarily to set up the directory.

Finally, from File Manager, drag OVERHEAD.EXE into a Group
Window of your choice. This way, Windows 3.1 will
automatically assign your Working Directory for you.

Double-click on the Overhead icon, and you are in business.
Clicking the [?] button will load the WinHelp OHEAD-21.HLP
file for access to operational documentation.

We suggest that you select the "Save Active" button to the
Level of your choice as your first priority in using Micro-
Boot 2.1. If you already have a configuration that you've
been using, this will not be necessary, but . . .
