                      CHECKLIST FOR SETUP/PLAY PROBLEMS
                      ----------------------------------

Before you assume there is something wrong with the game(s) or you
cannot get them to run on your system please check the following.
If you answer yes to any of them you are doing something wrong.

  1. WILD WEST:

_____ - You forgot to run the WILDCFG.EXE program to configure the
"WILDWEST.CTL" file first. (Make sure to run the WILDCFG.EXE
               program from the game directory.)

_____ - The start up batch routine does not change directories
INTO the game directory then run WILD.BAT (See the SAMPLE.BAT
Files provided.) The WILD WEST MUST be run from the directory
containing ALL the files listed in Contents.doc.

_____ - You did not specify the correct dropfile path in the
WILDCFG program under the 'Configure "WILDWEST.CTL" option.

_____ - You did not specify the correct node number in the
WILDCFG program under the 'Configure "WILDWEST.CTL" option.

_____ - You are running a fossil but forgot to configure the
appropriate CTL file to show that you are using a fossil
and at what speed you have locked the port. Use the XFossil
option in the WILDWEST.CTL file for speeds above 38400.

_____ - You have not tried to change to a different drop file format
to see if that might be the problem. If you are not using
DOOR.SYS you may want to try that or DOORINFOx.def.

_____ - You forgot to make sure ANSI.SYS installed.

_____ - You forgot to make sure SHARE is loaded.

_____ - You do NOT have ALL the game files (as listed in the
               contents.doc) in the game directory?
