Thelma Scheel - GOVERNOR and SENIORS HOST

My name is Thelma Scheel. I enjoy participating on a BBS. It is my hobby
and I spend a lot of time with it. I also enjoy reading, playing with
and reading to my grandchildren and watching ice skating competition and
shows. I am a volunteer literacy tutor for adults who need help learning
to read and write. We have two cats who own us and we feed and water
feral cats who have been abandoned by their humans and stay outdoors.

THE DATA HUT BBS - Sysop, Robert Williams

The Data Hut BBS came to life on December 27th, 1991. It was the
successor to a system I ran on a Macintosh Computer called CAMS HOST.
The original roots of The Data Hut go all the way back to 1980. In
February of that year, I started a part-time BBS called C.A.M.S. which
stood for Central Illinois Messaging System. That system ran on an
Apple ][ computer with 48K of RAM and 2 140K disk drives. C.A.M.S. was
supported by a local Computer store, as well as the local Computer club.
With new software, computer, and location in 1982, the system grew to a
5MB hard drive, and 1200 baud modem. After the computer club folded,
and the computer store lost interest, I ran the system from my home
until the switch to the Mac software. In May of 1990, I got fed up with
all the hassles, and shut down the BBS for what I intended to be a
permanent end to my SYSOP tasks and trials. However, the bug never
died, and I restarted the bbs as The Data Hut in 1991. I joined the
Intelec network in 1993 and have been happy since.

Robert Williams - GOVERNOR and Legal Advisor

I've always be fascinated with electronics and computers. Back in my
grade-school years, I bought a real simple toy computer that used soda
straws on plastic rods to do simple addition or subtraction in binary.
In High school I was fascinated with electronics, and was always trying
to figure out how to do something better. I tore apart radios to see
how and why they worked (and scared the daylights out of my parents). I
even tried to build my own TV camera, but lacked almost all the necessary
parts (made a lot of smoke, though!) I graduated in 1973 from Valparaiso
Techincal Institute with an assoicate in Electronics Technology and went
to work as an electronic weighing systems technician in the fall of 1973.
In 1977, I bought my first computer, an Apple ][ (serial #000588) and
began to learn computer programming. I started the C.A.M.S. BBS in 1980,
and moved it from an Apple ][ to a Macintosh in 1984. In 1983 I moved to
Main Street Computer Company as a service technician, and stayed with
them thru various name changes until January of 1995, when the company
went bankrupt. The remaining employees were hired by AmeriData
Technologies and I began work with them at my current assignment as an
on-site Information Technology Analyst at the Illinois Power Company
Clinton Nuclear Power Station. In 1990, I shut down my BBS due to
burnout, but restarted it as The Data Hut in December of 1991. The Data
Hut still runs today and is my most addicitive hobby (or vice...whatever).
I enjoy BBS'ing and Computers, and hope I can be a valuable addition to
our network.

Laynie Welton - GOVERNOR and HOST of several conferences

Hi, my name is Laynie Welton. I have been a "message junkie" since I
first began my BBSing career back in the early 1980's. The first few
months of owning my very first computer, an IBM-PC 8088, I didn't do
much more than sit around reading the DOS manual, trying to understand
how to "drive" this sixty-six hundred dollar piece of equipment that
was perched upon my desk... instead of being parked in my garage.
When I thought I had the DOS manual all figured out, I hit the big red
switch on the side of the CPU, and rather than just "driving off", I
guess you could say I became a power racer. I was off & runnin' and
lovin' every minute of it!

In 1986 I got a new computer and dedicated the old one to a home-based
BBS, which lasted for about 6 years until I shut it down to move and I
just never upgraded it enough to be able to keep up with today's huge
selection of files and available networks. So rather than run my own
BBS now, I have opted to get involved in other ways, by being available
as a hostess/moderator/governor on this network and others as well as
be a recently-appointed co-Sysop to The Data Hut BBS. When you're
hooked, you're hooked!

My other indoor interests include all kinds of music, song-writing,
poetry, crossword puzzles, and reading just about anything I can get my
hands on that is in the non-fiction category. My outdoor interests
include riding motorcycles, camping, fishing, 4-wheeling, and swimming.

Tiffany Hall-Graham - HOST of Animals and Food_Cooking

My name is Tiffany Hall-Graham and I first started BBSing in 1988. I
cut my teeth on FIDOnet message areas but then had to endure a
3 year forced separation from the computer [from 1990-1993] because our
family was stationed in Berlin, Germany. When we came back to the
States I got into BBSing once again and discovered RIME and Intelec
and I've been actively participating since then.

I love cats and have 5 of my own but I hope that number increases
someday. I love to read anything and everything but what I enjoy most
are science-fiction/ fantasy and historical mysteries. I like to do
counted cross-stitch and I enjoy cooking and collecting recipes,
specifically unusual and medieval ones (although what I actually cook is
fairly pedestrian!).

                   Terry Erickson - Network owner

My name is Terry Erickson. I am Sysop of "Circle Of Fellowship BBS"
and I -really- enjoy BBS'ing! I started working with Bulletin Board
Systems (and computer clubs) when I had a job repairing TV's, stereos,
and computers. I am interested in computer programming and graphics as
well as messaging with others. I was so impressed with the joys of
messaging with others through e-mail networks, that I decided to help
form one of our own! Other personal interests are: hiking, bicycle
riding, animal watching, and movies.

CIRCLE OF FELLOWSHIP BBS - Sysop, Terry Erickson

When the BBS first opened in June of 1993, it's name was RICHARD BBS.
RICHARD stood for "Remote Information Center - Help And Remote Downloads".
The intend was to have a place where computer users could obtain help
and information about computers. After 1 1/2 years, the name changed to
be better descriptive (and less confusing) of what the BBS was for. The
name 'Circle Of Fellowship' translates to "all around friendship" - which
is what I've come to enjoy about the hobby!
COF BBS runs under PCBoard v15.22 (OS/2 version) on a 486-66 with OS/2
as the primary operating system. We've run under PCBoard throughout the
life of the BBS.
