THE BATTLE OF CEFALONIA, September 22, 1943 - After the Italian
collapse of September 8th, the men of the Italian division "Acqui",
stationed in the isle of Cefalonia, refused to give up their weapons.
The Germans landed on the peninsula of Argosoli, in order to take the
harbour and destroy their ex-allies. The Italians had nowhere to go
and few anti-aircraft weapons. They fought to the last man against the
Germans, under the pounding of the Stukas. The German landing forces
captured Argosoli and the peninsula of Lixuri, killing 6000
Italians. This Scenario represents the landing of the German forces
at Argosoli and the Acqui's desperate attempt to repell them.
