The Armored Roadblock (June 1941) -- The German 6th Armored Division reached
the town of Rossienie in Southern Lithuania and made two bridgeheads across
the Dubysa River. A single Russian KV tank moved astride the road blocking
the supply line from Rossienie (to the east) to the bridgeheads (to the west). This single tank successfully blocked the road for
48 hours against a succession of elements from the bridgehead and later the
6th Division from Rossienie. German forces were committed beginning with the
50mm AT guns, a single 88mm AT, an engineer section, another 88mm AT, and the
rest of the engineers. Can you do better than the German commander using a
minimum of forces? -- From "Small Unit Actions During the German Campaign in
Russia", 1953, published by the U.S. Army Center of Military History -------
-- Scenario design by Joseph P. Molnar (70614,1347).
