When will the PC Network and Modem patch be available?

The coding is complete and it's currently undergoing severe testing. We
really hoped to bring this with the full version on release, but
unfortunately time got the better of us - sorry about that!

Where can I get the full game?

The full game is distributed through retail by OCEAN SOFTWARE, in all
territories - so you should be able to get a copy at your local store.

If you live in the US or Canada, you can order Worms by phoning GTE direct
on 1-800-483-8632. Alternatively, you order it over the Internet from
MediaMart.
NOTE: This is for the USA and Canada ONLY

The demo version I have downloaded has a few bugs, will these be cleared up
for the release version?

Of course, everything has been tidied up an awful lot since the first
release of the demo. We have alread released another, patched demo
(available on the site) and the game itself is far more robust given the
testing it had!

Can I download the full game here?

Sorry, no - only a demo. We are currently invetigating ways to download
full game and or buy direct from us via the Net.

Is there a WORMS mailing list for news and stuff?

Yes. Thanks to Mat Bettinson of CU-Amiga magazine, there's an unofficial
Worms mailing list covering all version of Worms, whether PC, Amiga, PSX,
etc, etc.

Also newly available is the Worms Usenet newsgroup - alt.games.worms.
Again, it's for chat about all version of the game.

What's the minimum, recommended and best spec to run the game?

On the Amiga, any machine with over 1Mb of Chip RAM will run Worms,
although you'll need 2Mb of Chip RAM if you want all of the samples.
For the PC, we consider a good "average" home machine to be (at the moment)
a DX2-66 with 8Meg, 16Bit Sblaster card, 2X CD-Rom and Local Bus graphics
card. Worms will run happily on this spec, but will run on lesser machines
and runs fine (if a little slow) on 386 machines. Performance can be
enhanced by degrading the Sblaster audio quality as this eats up CPU time.
Run WORMS on anything like a Pentium with a good graphics card on a 17"
monitor and it looks *great*. :-) But then, you would expect that! The
better machine you have, the better it looks and feels... although if you
have a Playstation, you`re really cooking!

How do I type in my own landscape number/name?

Dreadfully sorry, but this was omitted from the manual (someone has been
shotgunned!) and you can do this by pressing the SPACEBAR when on the
landscape generation screen. Simply type the landscape number/name in and
hey presto... Recallable landscapes. If you need to note down an
interesting landscape number, simply pause the game when playing.

Why don't I get sound on the PC version?

You certainly should do! If not then it is likely that;

   * Your soundcard is incorrectly configured.
   * You only have 4Mb of ram and there isn`t enough free for sound.
   * Your autoexec.bat is missing the SET BLASTER= XXX IX DX TX variable

If not and you are still experiencing problems, please mail our support
guys at... <support@team17.com>

Which is the best 'overall' version of the game?

Worms is pretty much the same game on all formats, although some formats do
offer some extra bells and whistles. The Amiga is perhaps the one with the
most refined gameplay, but then it`s been in development for the longest
(some 3.5 years!). The CD-ROM versions are very nice, but for us, the pick
of the bunch is the Playstation version as it is very smooth, has all the
extra CD features and is easy to play because of the control system.

Whose idea was WORMS ?

It`s all the fault of one Andy Davidson, who brought the original idea to
us last September, since then it`s been brought in house and refined
considerably.

If you have a query for the Worms mailing list, please use the Worm2Worm
form to send it to us.
